Lost my son when he was 3. Not one person told me anything, they all avoided. So thank you Q after 6 years. Finally hearing someone just say it. Allows me to cry like i haven't in awhile, in a healing way.

I'm terribly sorry to hear that man. One of my childhood friend's son was murdered at 18 and he called me when he got the news. We ugly cried on the phone together for over 30 mins. It tore my heart apart to have very little to say except that I was sorry and there for him. Q's verse about his friend always makes me think of my boy and hope he's holding up ok. It's been 9 years now....🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾

I was about 16 when I first heard this. I was a toubled youngin’ I would listen to this and think about all my hardships. Not having a father and not having my Mother around. I was getting in a lot of legal Trouble. I was lost. I’m 27 now. I followed my passion of making music. I live in a one bedroom in LA with my wonderful girlfriend and our fur babies. Im healthy. I can send money home to my grandma every now and then. I have food in my fridge. I can wake up and create whatever I want I’m blessed.

I would listen to this song allot while me and my pregnant gf were homeless and strung out on heroin. When I'd get real mad or when I'd be going through shit I'd post up wherever I was, and start smoking black. Times were crazy. We've been clean over 4 years now and our son ended up being born healthy no problems at all. If your struggling and read this just stay strong, keep pushin and one day you'll blessings will come to you. OneLove! Update: I'm 34 now and me and my woman got engaged right before Covid started. Our son is now 6 years old and just started first grade. Hes as healthy as can be and I thank God for that. We also have a daughter who is 4. We have our 2 dogs and are just a norman family living in Exeter Ca. Our lives are not perfect, but seeing how far we've come let's us know how blessed we are. I appreciate all the likes and comments. I know there are still people out there right now that were just like me back then. So if that's you and your reading this or even if you are doing good now and just struggle with life, always remember to keep your head up and be strong. Shit gets better. It may not ever be perfect but life is worth living and everyone deserves to be happy. ONELOVE 👊🏻

Listening to this song at 12:05 AM in the quiet of my bathroom, with headphones on to not wake anyone. It’s moments like these, after caring for my mother who’s bravely battling late stage ALS, that I find solace in music. I’ve just helped her to rest with her medication, and now, it’s just me and this song. To anyone else scrolling through the comments, seeking a sense of connection in your own tough times, know this: You are not alone. We’re all in this journey together, each carrying our own burdens, but music like this reminds us that hope and resilience can carry us through. Keep going, hold onto faith. There’s strength in us that we might not even realize. Stay strong.

I realized that I couldn’t be a kid anymore and to be a man at an early age. From 3 all to now(17) I’m still not giving up. Now I’m grinding for my dream so I can buy her a house. She’s gonna see me with my successes in life. They say “growing up with no father it’ll make you evil”.. that’s not true, all you need is your heart and a positive mind set. You can’t be a man because you gon through so much, that’s no man. A man is when you stay woke and stay grinding and fighting your battles, that’s a man.

Schoolboys first verse really hit me. This is actually the first song that I can relate to 100%. I turned 18 and got kicked out of cfs and I was living out of my back pack moving from couch to couch at my relatives place, my friend helped gave me 2 different drugs to sell and I stayed around a block late at night trying to get money so I can start my life, I got caught and went to jail...like actual jail not a youth center, and that's what I did I read books and exercised until I got out, its so crazy I never thought id find a song that I could really relate too. This is going to stay on my playlist for a very long time.
