Poor girl. Anxiety is awful. At least she recognises what it is at such a young age and is brave enough to speak about it and get help.
@glynnwright16994 жыл бұрын
Bless her, I had anxiety symptoms throughout my childhood, my parents got me a dog. My symptoms have persisted throughout my life; I have learnt to recognise the physical symptoms that come with anxiety, I can acknowledge them as an essential part of me without being overwhelmed by them. It takes years of practice to stay calm as anxiety sweeps through your body and not snap back into a standard response, even now that still happens occasionally. It is worth the effort, anxiety will disrupt every aspect of your life if it is not addressed. This girl is exceptional brave for allowing this to be recorded, only someone who has walked the same path knows how she feels. She is on the right track to liberate herself from anxiety as she becomes an adult.
@JustAnotherPerson4U3 жыл бұрын
That chinchilla is so trained and calm. And it makes me so happy to see that he kept going back to Paige. Because even if animals want to explore a bit they are such sensitive creatures and some just know when then need to go and give comfort. It's like he could sense that SHE was the one who was anxious and needed help in a room full of children.

They literally force kids at my school with anxiety to perform presentations. I think it’s very wrong since I suffer with terrible social anxiety and I also have a phobia of vomit and when I get put in a situation where I have to public speak or just do something that scares me, it gives me anxiety which makes me feel sick which then I am worried about being sick because I feel sick so I feel even more sick. I’ve been asking my parents for months to get me a therapy animal to help with my severe anxiety (I’ve always found that I’m much happier and calmer around animals and I want to be able to have a bond with an animal of my own as I find it difficult to bond with people). I just want a pet I can play and cuddle with especially when things get overwhelming, such as a Cavapoo (or any dog of similar temperament), rabbit, cat or chinchilla. But my parents are being extremely insensitive about it and only allow me a hamster which bites and runs off every time I get her out. I don’t understand them, both of them grew up with cats and rabbits, and my mum always goes on walks with her friends dog. And yet they refuse to let me have a pet that could genuinely help me. Their argument against it is that I have to show them that I can be happy and always have a positive outlook, go on long walks in unfamiliar areas and help around the house even more. It isn’t fair that they use my anxiety and mental health against me like that, I always try my best but they fail to see it no matter how much I tell them I’m trying. COVID hasn’t exactly helped either. All I want them to realise is that in order to overcome problems presented by anxiety, I need help and assistance, non of which I get from anyone (at least not in the way I need it) so perhaps it’s worth venturing down the animal route. They’re more loyal and sensitive and most importantly don’t constantly nag you to fix your attitude and tell you how to act/feel. I don’t expect anyone to read this but typing it out has released some frustration I have surrounding my situation. I just feel like people can be ignorant and stuff and I have only ever felt at peace with animals, even before my mental health took a turn for the worst.

I actually love my school for these things like whenever i feel anxious in class or on the verge of having a breakdown my friends along with the teachers would help me and Give me a little break and sit in the ground or eat some snack it helps only a little but i really appreciate their efforts 💜

my teachers full well knew that i struggled with mental health issues all throughout my highschool years. instead of actually helping me, they gave me loads of detentions, persuaded my parents that i needed to go to hospital and stopped me from going to events. i think i deserve a chinchilla for compensation

They should make it their mascot and they should get it a Therapy Chinchilla vest and have it as their Therapy Animal 😭💖

My best friend at school was my Chinchilla Charlie had him for 19 years. One constant in years of viscous bullying, coming home to him was my sanity and safe place.

When I had mental health issues in school, the teachers told me I was ‘following a trend amongst year 9 girls’, I was a boy in year 11.

Can relate to her i developed anxiety around 2012 but wasn't diagnosed until 2016 Thankfully I'm coping a lot better now although I do feel a therapy animal would really help me I'm gonna adopt in the future and hopefully train them

In my school, I’m literally a diagnosed with multiple mental disorders, 1 being generalised anxiety disorder and all I get is 5 minutes out the classroom if I’m having a panic attack 💀💀 LIKE HUH?

Same here. Autism, ADHD and anxiety, and I get given a tissue and told to stand outside for 5 minutes to calm down.
