Andrew, thank you for your explanation concerning Jesus the Logos, the unifying principle of all things. This one understanding has helped me present Jesus to others in the most effective ways. Eureka I say!! By the way our church is launching a new Classical Christian School in Marion, Oh. St George Classical Christian Academy.

This was such a great insight. It was a huge blessing interviewing Andrew.

Thank you for this incredible explanation about classical education and all that it encompasses. It really helped to grasp some of the concepts that were still somewhat abstract for me. Great videos (part 1 and 2!)

What math do you recommend? Especially for a 12 yr old whom has never seemed to like it or understand it?

There are SO MANY great math programs for homeschool families! I could list around 10 math programs that are excellent, but It's really about finding the one that works best for your child. Thankfully, many of them offer free samples so you can check them out. I will just share our experience with you. CTC Math has been a long-time sponsor of the Schoolhouse Rocked Podcast and we LOVE their program. Both of our girls really did well with CTC Math and this is what our younger daughter still uses. Over the past 11 years of homeschooling we have tried a bunch, and honestly each one had its benefits and none were bad. Our girls started out with Math-U-See and really benefitted from this hands-on approach to teaching numbers and math concepts. When they got a little older both girls moved to Teaching Textbooks, which worked really well, because it took the responsibility of teaching each new concept off of Yvette's plate, much like CTC Math does - both are online programs with virtual teachers. If you are looking for a more traditional approach you can check out BJU Press or Apologia, which both offer textbooks and online video classes.
