I think your option choice sounds like a great plan. I lived in Thailand on and off for my first 6 years of life and attended Kindergarten in the Isan area just like your girls will do. Then we moved to NYC and I had to sit in a classroom all day. I would have loved online learning and been able to be with my parents experiencing real life.

Education is important but so is socialization. You know what is best for your children. If you go with online schooling, I hope you will consider putting the girls in regular group activities such as sports, dance, music or art.

Of course! Online school provides the flexibility so that the children have more time to be outside, experiencing life and socialising, rather than stuck in a classroom 🙏

Kids learn to be bi lingual quickly at early age, They learn good values and standards from you guys at home, I think they would benefit from social contact in group classes, And would feel more part of the community, Join sporting groups etc, Its all an ongoing process and I'm sure you will make the right decisions, Nothing set in stone😊

Our children will be going to public school for a while and we'll reassess when they're older etc. But the online schooling isn't one on one, it's still a classroom with other children, but the flexibility aspect means they have more free time outside of their timetable rather than being stuck in a physical classroom all day. It's good to know that we have options and we'll always do what we feel is best for our children 🙏

Pedagogy is becoming more talked about in the UK. It just means to teach but to me I translate it as role modelling, which is what you do wonderfully with your children with great patience. I am always impressed with how your children learn through you both

School education is ok, but the best education happens at home. My grandfathers thought me a lot and still use a lot of what they thought me 'till this day. I keep telling young people to learn how to program which is one thing I used to do, but got into selling electronic components instead. I even created my own power semiconductors. Thank you for another great video and as always hugs to the family.

@@NativeFarang it is something that would take some convincing with my wife, lol. She is big in that social aspect but I am sure there are options to sen her to play clubs or similar things after class. Public school doesn't make too much sense for us as I do not expect us to stay in Thailand indefinately and Private or International schools are expensive. I checked the Kings InterHigh and I love that they offer business skills from early years, something that I've not seen before and is definitely missing. I wonder if there is an equivalent of KIH in Germany as I am German and my daughter is going to a German Kindergarten currently.

This is the discussion me and my wife are having atm as my little boy is coming up to 4 . What you've got to think about is when there grown up the wages here in Thailand are very low where as uk would have better options for the child I have to put my selfishness to one side and think what's best for my child
@NativeFarang
@NativeFarang Ай бұрын
I completely understand that, but being dual nationals our children will always be able to return to the UK to work should they wish to. Also in today's world with the internet, people are working from anywhere in the world while earning western wages. So long as they have the qualifications for such jobs, it doesn't matter where our children end up working, that choice is up to them 😊🙏

Going to the public school is very good choice so the kids will learn real life whereas the private schools are so fake life with all rich kids and classes particularly the rich Thai kids! I have experienced myself and my son went to Bangkok Pattana school for A level! Online school sounds good as I found it very useful to pause and replay whenever you feel like learning which I’m doing at the moment for watercolour painting! I’m so excited to see them in a little school uniform 😋

@@NativeFarang My nephew is Australian Indonesian (Aussie dad, Indonesian mum). He was born in Indonesia but spent his toddler years in Australia. My brother and family relocated back to Indonesia when he was around six. He experienced problems during his formative years learning Bahasa. He eventually picked it up and is now bilingual. Actually, he is one of the most switched-on kids you could meet, but during those early years (6-10), he did struggle a little interacting with the other kids.
@NativeFarang

@@truesouth4784I understand that, I had a similar upbringing, I was in Thailand until aged 9 and didn't know a word of English when I moved to the UK so I had extra help outside of school to help me catch up, but I got there in the end and I'm glad for it, just like your nephew, being bilingual is a huge advantage. Our children are constantly interacting with Thai children, there are many that live in our Moo Baan, the language will hopefully be easier to pick up when they start school next year, then English we will teach them at home 🙏
@truesouth4784

@@NativeFarang Yeah for sure. You have it squared away. One thing that really helped my nephew was football. Like the Thais, the Indonesians love their football. Even though he didn't have the language sorted out, the on-field commands and directions, and general banter was something that he could engage in. Being in a little league football team was great for him.

I think education in Southeast Asian countries is much better than the West. The question is what you're going to do with it. The sad part is the value of education that they give to Asian education. Unfortunately it is just the opposite the other way.

Public education in Thailand is poor. No one recommends it, not even those who went through it. Teachers are not properly or highly qualified in many instances. Private education in Thailand at a minimum and even that is questionable.

@@SmallManBigWorldGlobalI really disagree with your views on Thai public schooling, I myself have attended public schools in Thailand so can speak from experience rather than hearsay. A large number of the wealthiest and most successful Thais certainly weren't educated in international schools or abroad.

@@NativeFarang I'm speaking from experience too, not hearsay. But we can definitely disagree. I expect you to champion Thai public schooling as you plan to send your kids there, it would look pretty bad if you agreed and planned to send them there anyway. Getting the right option for your kids education is important in any country. A duel Thai/British education sounds good. British qualifications carry a lot of clout around the world. Good luck in which option you ever choose for the girls. Mallory is a very bright girl and Kaya bounces off from her too. Regimented systems are too full on as we all learn at different stages and develop social skills. Bless you guys. hope all works out. 🩷🌟🩷🙏👍
