I remember seeing this live on TV way back when. Before DVR and VOD. You had to be sitting there when it came on. Great TV. The 80’s and 90’s were the pinnacle of bass fishing. Maybe slightly into the 2000’s.

Back when there was honor in the sport.....(because there as honor in the country the bred these fishermen). It was truly about fishing. There showing all aspects of nature. And Kentucky/Barkley are like any other lake across the country today.... The fishing on those bodies of water are NOTHING like they used to be. I'm old enough to remember this episode. They are being pulverized with pressure, and entitled trash who respect nothing, let alone catch and release. You can even see the spiritual side of fishing in shows like this, back then. There are probably 10-15 KZbin channels of kids, posing as anglers, who can't so much as launch their boat without using FFS. They don't get it....and have NO clue as to what this sport is about. You DAMN-sure don't see shots of the surrounding nature. Because, they don't care. It's some kid with a Go Pro, and his FFS. Our country is beyond broken, and the toxic culture that's caused it has infected fishing like it has literally everything else.

Only gonna get better heard Garmin coming out with some other new stuff you can't stop technology I hate computers but are they going away NOPE!! And it's NOT 1984 anymore things change fishing changes everything changes you can't stop it
@phillamoore1579 ай бұрын
@@slabbusterrtr7690 @slabbusterrtr7690 JFC....it wouldn't surprise me if you type that with one hand down your pants. "It's not 1984 anymore"....???? That's your stupid reply? First off....THAT'S WHAT THIS VIDEO IS! You came to a video about 1987, with a pro from that era, who also says FFS is bad for the sport, and STILL watched it. So, you're lazy, entitled, hypocritical, excruciatingly STUPID.....AND have a co-dependence and desperation, SO BONE-DEEP you need a video game to catch a fish. And, you try and justify it all by saying "It's not1984 anymore, dude....things change". Btw...you're illiterate, as well. *You are literally the poster-child for FFS (......and Planned Parenthood for that matter). You're the kind of loser that would try and justify sex-trafficking minors by saying: "It's not 1984 anymore, things evolve...". And, the biggest irony of all is that you clueless, pus-sacs are destroying the very fisheries YOU fish. The fact that someone like you is gainfully employed to the point of even being able to own a boat with this desperate technology is disturbing in and of itself. Speaking of change.... Isn't there some kind of computer-automation to do whatever menial minimum wage job you have? I bet you wouldn't be rubbing your knob over that kind of "change" would you. See how "change" works, genius? It's real simple. You may not realize it now, given how imbedded you are in your world of entitled, co-dependence and hypocrisy. But, there's only so much "I don't give a f^^^" to go around before it starts taking everyone down, INCLUDING you. *The people that respect this sport, and the fisheries, themselves may not be able to stop you scabs from using FFS....but, we can damn-sure make you wish you had. Chastising you knobs is also not only legal, but "evolving", as well.* At the end of the day....if you're THAT desperate to catch a fish, you can always go to the stocked trout pond in Bass Pro Shops. It's free, and they'll even provide the pole for you (something else you probably think you're entitled to). It's meant for toddlers, so you'll be the dumbest one there, but once you tell them that "it's not 1984 anymore, and times change"....I'm sure they'll accommodate you.

@@phillamoore157 Wow! You put into words my feelings about these "pro fisherboys" They are why I quit fishing tournaments. To much crying and whining, if you beat them, they accuse you of cheating.
@squarebill9 ай бұрын
@phillamoore157 man that hurt I live and fish here on Ky Lake and I agree with the pressure but entitled trash not all and where I'm at around Jville area it would be minority. Your bound to be referring to young folks.but again not all young uns not mine anyhow . Reckon it's on how they're raised. I'm 52 not sure of your age but look at the new tech this way . I imagine you may have only had a flasher at one time but as graphs/ depthfinders improved you probably got em as they did. If you fished tournaments I'm sure you have and in reality it's bout same thing. Even are reels rods boats and trolling motors and all have improved our trucks and just bout everything I'd say. I'm not a big supporter of FFS but I can understand how all things improve and it be hard for me to hold against my 20 year old self in 2024 getting the new tech and if you were to be honest with yourself being 20 yrs old this day and age you'd be live scoping don't ya magine. I don't think I could learn all before I'm too old to fish so I decided to stick with what I know lol. I'm not fussing just trying get ya to see in a little different way is all. Them guys on Bass Elites that are the older ones have realized they're gonna have to use and learn to use if they want to keep up. I would like to see B.A.S.S. put some limit on em maybe some tournaments they can't use FFS or something. I agree take away the young guys FFS they'd be lost . Just think bout what you used at 20 yrs old versus what ya use now it's really no different as far as progression goes. Good safe fishin to ya. B.A.S.S. college ran out of Gilbert today i believe with 210 boats 22 lbs leading 6 lb big fish and I had one go over 7 lbs today with my little ole Garmin DV lol few good brown fish to. I'm sure all them boys used FFS and had all beat on big fish all 210 boats lol . They some things never replace knowledge on a given lake hell I don't need one for depth anymore lol .

Hank Parker always knew how to find fish , and catch them , He didn’t need FFS . He relied on Old School methods of experience and know how !! He also recently made his points known on FFS . I learned alot watching Hank’s show growing up . I still use Old school methods as well . The Mapping and Power poles you mentioned are great tools though and FFS. Is as well to an extent but FFS (Live Scope ) should only be used when Crappie fishing in my opinion . It’s almost like playing a video game. Anyone can do it now. The spot lock that you mentioned is a very good tool to help keep you on your fishing spot that you found using old school methods . I do believe in using transducers on your trolling motors that has side imaging and downing imaging I just don’t agree with the whole live FFS.
