looks like the car also has the opposite to trailing axles which will have aggressive /unpredictable steering. hopefully its just an illusion 🥸

I believe it's a Lotus A-frame. I don't know too much about them, but I'm hoping it doesn't have the steering issues you have envisioned!

@@schoolingthescholar5323 the easiest way to find out is on the front hub ,bearing upright assembly put a straight edge between the 2 a-arm pivot points and see where the axle is relative to them. if it is inline that has a very direct feel, if its trailing behind it has more predictable feel and has a more "caster-wheel" effect. if the axles are infront i think if would be all levels of NO! going into the corner. also while your there on the front you can check the caster angle as that as well seems abit extreme for a on road car.

Any reason the live axle would be preferable to the transaxle? What gearbox do you use ?

I use the Robin Reliant gearbox. Main benefits of live axle are 1) Overall car weight is lower, as you have to use a production car gearbox. The 'trannys' struggle to get down to the minimum weight. 2) More underfloor aero options, specifically diffuser. Due to the gearbox placement the diffusers have to be really short on the 'trannys.'
