Someone showed me that you can change the color space of texture maps in the RS Asset Manager by using the list. It lets you change lots of texture map color spaces all at once. This helps speed up the process since normally you have to select each texture node separately and then go to the drop down menu and find sRGB or RAW. Thanks for an amazing and concise list of tips!!
@laeternamlКүн бұрын
Or Maxon should provide a shortcut instead of the drop down sub menus.

Hey EJ, I started learning C4D with your course last year, and it's absolutely amazing! I’m now using it every week at work. Quick question: Sometimes, I have a ton of objects in my scene, and I hide some by clicking the small dots to turn them red. Later, when I want to unhide them, I struggle to find them in my object list. Would using layers be a better approach in this case? Do you have a tip to display only "red dots object"? Thanks in advance for any tips!

The Ctrl/Command + C thing works in Octane too if anyone's wondering.

Thanks for the tips EJ! @5:19 The universal color node is great--but when inside a symmetry object, the custom display color is defeated. Any workarounds? Thx!
@mpbMKE4 күн бұрын
I think you lost your color correction mid-video. 😅 Great tips, EJ! I definitely could have used the animation bookmarks on the project I just delivered. It was heavy CAD, no time/budget to simplify the models, so even segregating objects to layers couldn't save my viewport speed. It was so heavy, I had to use the laptop controls to navigate the dope sheet/f-curve, lol. Isolating some of those tracks would have saved a hefty amount of frustration trying to bounce between the tracks I was manipulating. One note on bucket size: I default to 512, too, because I also have twin 3090s, but some AOVs, like Cryptomattes, will still bust you back down to 64. And the last thing on render speed, always double-check you're closing any other windows or programs that might be gobbling up precious VRAM. It might even be a good idea to do a system reboot just to clear it out prior to a big render where you'll be walking away from the workstation.

Hello my friend, I have an important question for me. When I create a CGI project and finish tracking the camera, and when simulating the dynamics, I use a large-sized model, such as a box or a shoe, but the simulation process will not be completely accurate, and I do not know what the solution is to this problem. I change many settings, but in the end it will not work.

About the video thumbnail: It would be “Eau de…” meaning “water of”, not “Ode A”. If you’re trying to say an “ode to” in French, you would need to add an accent to the ‘a’ “Ode à” and make it lower case as the French don’t capitalize titles the way North America and the UK does.

Assuming that 99.99% of the time we have to set the color profile to sRGB or RAW, why doesn't Maxon provide us with a shortcut for those settings? Instead of forcing us to browse in a very useless and time consuming drop down menu and sub menu? I will never get it.
