I think it's great to give away unwanted fragrances, whether to charity or friends. Much better than trying to sell them. It's so rewarding to make a gift of something that you know others will really be excited about, and kind of takes the sting out of having spent the money on them and then finding out they weren't really for you. Plus, giving them away clears up space AND kind of trains you psychologically to be more discriminating, less impulsive, about future purchases. If you constantly bank on getting some money back out of fragrances that are duds, you're more likely to get even more impulsive in your buying. So "losing" money by giving the rejects away probably saves you tons of money in the long run.

Regret is kind of a harsh term when looking in Hindsight at fragrances that helped start you on your Fragrance journey at the beginning years ago. You could also look at it as these fragrances helped Jump start and launch your passion for Fragrance discovery, and helped mold and evolve your tastes into what they are now. 🤷♂ but I do get it when you have an over-abundance of Fragrances you have to clear out the ones that don't suit your tastes anymore, or feel outdated for modern day. I do agree with you on Kenzo Homme EDP didn't work for me, the Patchouli is so strong and cloying it's head-ache inducing for me to wear in hot weather and doesn't really fit in Cold weather either for me.

But simply a lot of designers are boring, but the good ones are heavenly good. When it comes to dylan blue tho, it’s generic and not a good blen din my opinion. Wsy too much ambroxan

@@eee-hi1kl Niche does not mean it´s better. I can start a brand and it´s up to me how much i want to spend on the production. A small beer company cannot produce beer in large numbers and the price will be higher than the big production companies. I have bought beer 5 times more expensive and it´s not better than a normal beer.....The more naturals in a fragrance will also cause more risk of allergies. Why spend 300 dollar on a fragrance that people likely won´t enjoy around you? I give a shit cos i get nose blind anyway but i want to smell good for those around me and when i enter a store i want to smell good for those strangers. Yesterday my mom said i smelled good. I was wearing my cheapest fragrance- Boss-Reversed. She never say anything when i have my YSL, Armani. Prada.

@@eee-hi1kl when talking about fragrances people start to be arogant and say only from niche can you find something worthwhile. Well I own niche and designers in my ~100 collection. I received more compliments from my designer fragrances than any of my niche ones. For example Dylan blue, Missoni wave, One million parfum and The most wanted are the most complimented perfumes I own. No one said anything when I wore a Mancera or Xerjoff or Atkinsons which I absolutely love It's your opinion when you wanna smell something artistic with insane quality, but the rest of the world will just pick up on your scent trail and designer cheapies do that perfectly

I actually like Asad way more than Sauvage Elixir. When I first tried Elixir, I felt that the licorice smell was a bit too overpowering for my taste. Asad seems way smoother to my nose. Having said that, I learned, for me, Asad only works well in extremely cold temperatures. A friend actually confirmed this for me. She initially hated the smell of Asad on me, but I met up with her months later in a very cold environment (about 0 degrees Celsius), and she asked me what I was wearing and said I smelled amazing. 🤷 😂

I just like what smells good to me. I got my passion from my father. My first niche cologne was Layton and I was disappointed. Not because it didn't smell good. But, I thought niche was a different thing. Oh well. Maybe I might get Creed Royal Mayfair and that's it for niche for me. By the way I disagree with you about Hindu Kush. I thought it was a good smelling scent despite the cannabis note. And I hate the smell of weed.

Hey Omar i really enjoy your videos as someone who's just getting into the hobby. While watching KZbin videos I've realized there's not much (if any) videos for specific age groups. As an example i am in my early 20s and just like many people at my age i sometimes want something attention grabber,"sexy" etc while still smelling good instead of smelling like a 10/10 but weird artistic perfumery. So if you can make such videos for age groups to recommend fragrances for different occasions(4 season, winter, summer, date night etc) it would be amazing.

I would agree with all except black Orchid and I think Cartier parfum is a keeper but not the EDT one. For me I don't regret buying Kenzo homme EDP it's very synthetic so compared to other aquatic like 40 knots or house of bo line in general prevents from wearing Kenzo. The issue with all affordable synthetic strong scents is that whenever I feel like I can wear something strong, I do go more premium and when I feel that I don't want to wear something strong I might pick affordable synthetic ones if I have in my collection. I feel I can't wear something synthetic that lasts long it doesn't sit well with my nose. But there's a trick for these strong synthetic perfumes, I layer them with fresh scents including Mancera. It's all comparative to your collection and your experience with your own colognes. Finally, the only and truly cologne that I regret buying is paco rabanne phantom, it smelled good for a week for me then I started hating it.

Funny thing you mentioned about clones that I used to do a lot in the early days of my interest in fragrances which was buying clones even though I knew I didn't like the original. I guess most of the time it's purely because you can get them for 20-30 quid but then you just never touch them and if you buy 3 of those clones suddenly that's a full bottle of some much more interesting original creation from another house that you don't have money for. Young fragrance collectors beware.

I agree, it's a bizzare take which I keep hearing and don't understand. For me, Dylan Blue smells like shaving foam, masculine - maybe not in a traditional, barbershop fougere style, but a modern one. Maybe it's the fact that it's quite loud, synthetic and sort of sweet?

I prefer Cartier L’Envol EDP. Also, I wore the Chanel recently and received several compliments from strangers, which reminded me only the industry pushes the term “outdated” and the like on frag heads. The average person, however, only knows of what they smell is pleasing - regardless of how long ago it came on market. That’s why I follow my nose and NOT the industry, whose PRIMARY vested interest is in getting consumers to hook onto trends.
