Jolly, witty, somewhat acerbic, this delightful concerto is a unique sort of "double concerto" for horn and piano, both instruments brilliantly represented by these artists. The orchestra is excellent also under this conductor, and the whole experience was quite exceptional.

Delightful!!! The pianist and the trumpet were exciting together. This performance was as good as Wang's or Trifonov's. The wonderful trumpet player looked for all the world like one of the principals of the FRSO. I suppose it WAS him after all, as he is always hitting all the right notes.

La eterna duda. Jajaja En los papeles es el concierto Nro.1 para piano. Pero si bien la trompeta no interactúa en todos los movimientos como un solista permanente ni al mismo nivel que el piano por fragmentos sería un doble concierto? ❤

Der Dialog zwischen dem Soloklavier und der Solotrompete ist hörenswert. Aber die ganze Aufführung klingt nicht so spannend wie erwartet.
