SCHOTT-NYC: American Clothing Original

A visit to the Schott NYC outerwear factory in Elizabeth, NJ. I wrote and produced the package featuring NATHAN KAMP and set up the studio conversation with the other WPIX-11 MORNING NEWS Anchors FRANCES LEE, SUKI KRISHNAN and LISA MATEO, who all donned the latest Schott genuine leather jackets, as well as some of their iconic designs worn by James Dean, Marlon Brando and Bruce Springsteen. The firm has been in business since 1913 and makes all its garments in America.

Schott makes about 70% of its clothing in the USA. They do outsource some of their "budget" jackets to China/Asia. If you want a made in U.S.A. jacket be prepared to spend $500 and up.

The vintage 1960s, 70’s, and 80’s pieces are Schott’s best work in my opinion.

Opino lo mismo. Hoy en día las nuevas "tendencias" hace que los fabricantes de chaquetas de piel o denim las produzcan muy largas (quizá por que tofos usan pantalones caídos como Cantinflas) y sin mucha estructura, cusnfo lo hermoso de una buena chaqueta clásica es su corta longitud, hasta la cintura y su caída elegante.

i always loved the brand i had schott nyc in leather first time and it was in PARIS 20 YEARS AGO it was like everywhere i got someone asking about it and it was motorbike jacket,my last one it s a pea coat almost new ,a 44 size made in usa and i paid three euros from a nice lady in flea market today in helsinki i m very lucky because it just started to be really cold and when i put it on my girlfriend loveD it too, many thanks TO SCHOTT

Which model number is the male anchor wearing at the end of the video?! You can't get big lapels like that today out of any of their models! But it looks the truest to the classic perfecto! I thought it was a 626VN because of the plaid lining BUT even though it does have the stars on the epaulets, the 626VN has 4 buttons to hold down the lapels. Not 2 like his! It looks to be a softer leather so steerhide and horse is out. Anyone know what it is????

Yes, but this it is not totally true because of the European Licences. The brand Schott sells on the European markets leathers, jackets and other clothes also labelled "Schott NYC", while they are produced in cheap countires like asia or in north African countries. Business is business as they say...

I bought a bomber jacket from Schott store and to my suprise it was made in China i first noticed it after i saw this video and checked it out, so he is full of crap. Sayin that he would never think of outsource to China. But the bomber jacket is still amazing quality, a seriously amazing piece of jacket. And i love it 😊

MaRoMoRoStaR most of their leather jackets are made in NJ. There are some imported items. He definitely misspoke but nearly all leather jackets are made in US. It’s typically their shirts, sweaters, etc that are imported.
