Hi Big C, I’ve since moved on to a gransfors bruks small forest axe and definitely believe that it’s a better choice. I have to give credit to the Scaxe though because it’s held up till now with heavy use. I still use it for splitting wood for the smoker but i definitely prefer the small forest axe. Mine broke boys. Rear pummel snapped right off. Also sharpened this hatchet more than any other hatchet i've ever owned. I want my money back!!

Going to have to pick one of these up. The ferro rod in the handle is the selling point for me.
