Schuberth C5 SC2 firmware update fail [7][50]
SCHUBERTH Bluetooth Device Manager version 1.5.1
I tried Windows 11, Windows 10, Apple Macbook, USB 3, USB 2, old laptop, it always fails at 20-21% and is driving me crazy. I have 2 C5 Helmets with the SC2 communication system, with same behavior. I read about the Sena Cambridge Radio USB driver not being digital signed somewhere, but could not confirm this. Neither Schuberth or Sena are willing to help: "contact your dealer". Dealer tells me to contact Schuberth. HELP! :)

Last email answer from Schuberth support: In case of you get the error code below, please use the workaround below to get it sorted. Use the original USB-C cable from the box Switch off firewall of your computer Switch off the virus scanner Check if your internet box has an firewall too -> switch it off Use another USB plug of your computer. Tried all of this once more and ofcourse still same error...

Bought my SC2 15 months ago and am also having this exact same problem, that's how I found your video (and was hoping for a solution). Tried it on 1 desktop and three laptop PC's (running Windows 10) all with the exact same result. Also tried multiple cables (including the ones I use to flash my own written firmware to various micro controllers, so I know they're good). Since I (professionally) noticed that not all firmware using USB can be flashed equally I even tried the "Trick" using an external USB-hub instead (this results in another way of addressing devices). Turned off firewalls in Windows, but also in my cable modem. Also tried turning off the virus scanner, but nothing seems to work: the progress bar always stops at 20% with the dreaded message "Cannot get status[7][50]". Last year, when I just got the SC2, I updated the firmware to the (then) latest version using the same PC and back then it all worked fine; now a year later: nothing. I think it is just silly that you pay not only for an expensive helmet, but also for an addition Bluetooth "Accessory" that also doesn't come cheap and get such customer service: there's simply no answer or a solution to this obvious problem from Sena or Schuberth.

My searches also show the issue for Sena devices. Pretty bad support and service all around. I don't understand how they get away with it...

I did some digging in my backups and found a copy of version 1.4 of the manager (that's the version I successfully used last year), but that is now also giving this dreaded "Cannot get status" error. The only changes on my PC in the last months are the usual Windows 10 updates, but since there's absolutely no error log (also nothing in the Windows Event Log), I'm just blind in what the actual underlying problem with the tool is. If I could somehow enable logging in the manager, that would be of great help, but Sena is not providing any help, whatsoever. BTW I also tried the x86 version of the manager on an old 32 bit Win10 PC I found lying around, but also to no avail. 😣

I have the same problem. Program stops at recognizing device. Then I unplugged usb and managed to download firmvare verdion 2.1. Plug in again and try to update but process stops at 36%.

Hello, I have a problem with my SC2 purchased new, the sound on the right side of my helmet is not coming out. Schuberth E2 helmet model. I live in Brazil, how can I solve my problem?

Personally, I don't think it's a firmware issue. The best you can do is go back to where you got it and have it checked or (as a first option): clean the contacts of both your SC2 as the ones in your helmet with Isopropyl Alcohol ("IPA") and when re-inserting the module, be sure to line up all contacts.

@@Quick_Fix Hello buddy, how are you? It was found that the speaker itself was damaged. I took it to a store in my city BR, and very simply with a multimeter the problem was found. It's very disappointing that the SENA brand comes with such a simple problem. Now I bought the 50R speakers, which must be the same connector as the E2 assembly line helmet, and I'm going to replace them. Another thing is that Schuberth's after-sales service for Brazil is very complicated. I had to solve my problem by searching and watching videos on KZbin.

I have had troubles updating to version 2.1. Now tried to use another computer with Windows 11. Updated without any problems!
