I’m only here for Crowder. Crowder has the lawyers and money to change terms and look into terms. his point is new up incoming talent does not have that ability to negotiate or have people look into. Therefore daily wire is exploiting young new talent. Crowder didn’t release name of who he was talking about the daily wire is the one who came out and said it was them.
@lampad4549 Жыл бұрын
Crowder didn't release the name but there is only one person who could make that call. His point is total bullshit, you go into any contract negotiation this is how it works, a company isn't just going through money on talent they are going to mitigate risks to get return on investment. Crowder played it out like this is exploitative , never knew Crowder could be so socialists.

@aprileatsguilty2 жыл бұрын
@@Wurldly they have enough information that’s why they were able to give a balanced take overall. Each one shared different perspectives but were open to listening to the others as well. One would push back on one person’s take and vise versa. The offer was done as a business transaction through steven’s agent. The phone call was initiated by him as a friend of jeremy where they chatted about the holidays, children and diapers. They've got the timeline of the Crowder stuff mixed up. Negotiations started October/November last year. Crowder didn't take the deal, countered, DW said no we can't to that. Should have been done there. In December, Crowder registered the stop big con website, so over a month before making any videos. He also recorded the call with Jeremy Boering before making any videos. That chain of events has led a lot of people to see it all as a marketing campaign for some new enterprise and not a principled stance.

I think another important aspect that not many people are picking up on. Crowder seems to be legitimately and deeply grateful for his viewers and everything they've done to support him and his team through thick and thin. It's obvious to me that he doesn't take that support lightly, and he understands that his audience invests time and money into LwC for more than just entertainment. His making this issue public was incredibly important, in my opinion, and he is actually sacrificing a lot to do what he feels is right. It almost has nothing to do with his specific contract/term sheet being insanely predatory (Rekeita Law did an excellent breakdown). His first video was speaking 3 groups: ~Up and coming content creators/"talent" ~Large conservative media companies ("big con") ~The audience, subscribers, customers who buy into the media companies and the creators. To the up and coming: he showed them what a predatory contract looks like. Then he advised them to protect themselves with competent legal counsel in negotiating contracts; don't let big numbers up front fool you into signing a contract designed to screw you over. Most talented people in the music industry learned this the hard way. To conservative media companies: If you believe in the ideals that you are profiting off of, than build the systems and figure out new ways to do business that align with the ideals you're selling. To the audience: these companies are selling you lies and you have the right to know about those who you've trusted with your hard earned dollars. Hold these companies to the ideals that they advertise, otherwise they are taking your money without fighting for you. Broadcasting those messages will result in more short term loss than gain for Crowder, and I don't think he was naive about that. This ended up 10x longer than expected, but the whole situation has been fascinating.

Honestly came here for your take on the Crowder v. Daily Wire thing. First Crowder released the terms he didn't agree with without naming DW, he was making content about the terms. DW released a video outing themselves read the "contract" that wasn't a contract, just term sheet. Crowder then released parts of a call afterwards. The issue is that DW first cliamed it was just business, then when the call was released it wasn't about business it was about their friendship

Just because you may not agree with the opinions stated in this video doesn’t mean they missed anything or that they don’t know what they’re talking about.

If you listened, they claim Crowder was the one who name dropped Daily Wire, and even compared the Crowder situation to Andrew’s infamous deal. So, I think it’s not an incorrect assumption that they missed this. I didn’t even say I disagree with their take.
@lilkiduno2 жыл бұрын
My take is that there is three sides to every story. This case, there is Crowder’s side, the Daily Wire’s side and the Truth. Both Parties are only going to paint themselves in the best light possible. Chowder seems pretty fixated about the “big tech punishment” terms, which is understandable as he has been demonetized for quite some time. Daily Wire is trying to make Money off their Talent they sign, perhaps that was a terms they send to all their perspective talent. However, based off DW’s statements, they made the offer for Crowder, one would assume they would have catered their terms for the talent they were aiming to sign. In the end of the day, the offer was for $12.5M/yr for 4 years. Perhaps Crowder really was concerned about the terms, maybe he wanted a larger fee, but that $12.5 was for operating costs of the whole LwC crew, not just for Steven himself. Idk who is in the right or the wrong.
@jendavenport49092 жыл бұрын
Crowder didn't negotiate but turned around and used a non negotiated term sheet to hurt DW as if he was signed into a deal. He wasn't, didn't even try to negotiate. Really hate how he did this. Hope Dave landau gets signed by Dw. He was the best part of LWC.

Akaash needs his own show, he outgrew the pod. A lot of respect for the guy

Agree, he could stay but he should have his own pod because the dude obviously has more to say than there is room for in Flagrant.

Crowder never put anyone on blast. He spoke generically, never saying names. Never outing anyone. And then DW comes out "IT WAS ME" like Jim Carrey in Liar Liar when he leaves the elevator stating the extremely bad smelling farts "were his." Crowder talks generically about this horrible no good terrible contract, and DW comes out like "oh yeah, that's us, we offered him that horrible no good terrible contract" like way to shit on yourself. That's like someone making a video saying "pedo's are bad" and then someone you love comes out saying "what's wrong with pedo's, im one, stop the hate" and its like BRO WHAT? If that example doesn't wake you up, just lol.
