Just a 1.5min clip of Schumacher driving with the roaring sound of V10 engines and the wild crowd who cheered Michael at every corner is enough to remind us what F1 is missing nowadays.
@Speedy00
@Speedy00 6 жыл бұрын
To me this was the best era of F1. Not only because of the cars, but look at the crowd.. I remember being at Hockenheim, had a seat at the grandstand.. People were going crazy every time MS flew by. I mean they were going that crazy, that you couldn't even hear the sound of the car and ppl who ever heard these v10s live know, how freaking loud they were... Nowadays it seems like ppl are just sitting there, pretty bored and just go to the track to tell everyone "hey i've been to a formula 1 event..." but it's nothing like it was in the late 90s and early 2000s.

It's because the tickets are INSANELY expensive. The same thing happened with the Premiere League, the crowd is just composed of rich people who are most of the time just here to show off, Formula 1 has lost its "popular" aspect since 25 years now.
@novocainDaimon
@novocainDaimon 5 жыл бұрын
@@Okxyd Formula 1 has lost its "popular" aspect. But i disagree with the time: 25 years ago we had 1993 - which still was in the golden age of Formula 1. But ever since then the circus has dumbed down to a cash circus thats all about beeing serious, making money and thats about it. Where are the pit lane girls? Where are the outstanding drivers (everyone can go fast, but what about character? i dont want to see Hamilton, Vettel or whatever their names are because they are all the same generic types of character). It's all about safety first nowadays because there is so fucking much money involved. Imagine if the 1998 Spa Grand Prix would repeat nowerdays - race would've been cancelled at the very start after 1 corner.

He literally looks like he's flying by. Something about him and the whole setup of that car and the sound - all made it clear that he was absolutely at the limit, or even pushing the limit.

For those who say this is not the best lap ever: when was the last time you saw a F1 car drift and not impede the lap time but in fact be in pole. James Hunt himself would have been proud.

Leclerc in Singapore 2019, he drifted 3 times, maybe not as much as Schumi here in 0:21 but still
@jtrevrb1
@jtrevrb1 2 жыл бұрын
@@zuczek8669 I am sorry Zuc. But I have to disagree. LEC’s in Singapore drive was more wheel spin AFTER the corner; none his fault cause of the bumpy street circuit that is killer gaining traction out of the hole. As with MSC, Mike was inducing the Ferrari to drift prior to entry of the corner, with the car “sliding” into the corner. Something Sir Sterling Moss would talk about in the 50’s - 60’s. It takes a trust of your equipment, trust in the workmanship of the boys back in the garage and a big pair to pull it off.

@@gottliebdee263 overcooking is when you lock up and flat spot your tires only to botch your lap. This was pole pace and looks like a slide under control to me. But your right. Neither of us will ever know what’s it like to be totally at one with a F1 car. Only the gods know.

The early 2000s Marlboro livery is the most iconic in the history of the sport. Sure the latter McLaren Marlboro cars were gorgeous too, but gimme that F2003 in glorious fluorescent Rosso Scuderia and full Marlboro markings any day.

It's the best because he gained at least 2 tenths on Kimi in the final half of the lap. This is one of the shortest tracks in F1. Gaining that kind of time in a half of that short track, says quite a lot.

YuHeff2BiMad Okay 2012 season was decent, but you can't compare the pathos in 2000 with recent years. Ferrari vs McLaren, Schumacher vs Hakkinen, V10 engines, great sounds, beautiful cars and wild crowds. Much more passion. V8 era wasn't that bad, but in the last few years motorsport has been totally ruined.

This stated in relation to another race he completed with a sweaty burned back due to a loose hose that smoked hot steam in the cockpit seat for most of his race.

Hands down one of the greatest clutch drives ever and not many drivers would recover after getting the car sideways

His peak was when he was the only guy in formula 1 to be cappable of compete with the Maclaren Mercedes (when hakkinen was world champion) because the difference between Maclaren and the rest was huge... he still was cappable of challenging hakkinen for the title despite of that... its a pity that in the 5 consecutive times he won the formula 1 tittle, he barely had any oposition, because he was probably the best F1 driver after Senna, unfortunaly formula 1 started to lose its magic in this period, they changed the qualification rules, the fuel pitstops, the budjects were controlled, only 1 engine was allowed per weekend and stuff like that, they killed formula 1 slowly...
