Here is a quick video to test and go over some of what I have figured out about this charger. It is part number FR01576. You can download the manual on Schumacher's website. Though the instructions are pretty bad and that stands out in the reviews of this product.
I made this video because the manual is so bad. I hope it helps.

Just bought a zero turn bcs my tractor is getting old. Went to Tractor supply, bought this charger bcs I left the key on run accidently and killed the battery after day one of useage. The company manual is HORRIBLE. I will listen to this video tonight. I pray this TX girl can sort it out. Thank you so much for the video.

My wife went to Florida to visit family and left me with strict orders to start her car…..of course I didn’t and battery dead. Had to dust off my schumaker.. this vid helped.

They are a handy gadget to have. My 2015 has so much electronic equipment on it that runs all the time, and I drive it so seldom that if I don’t use a maintainer the battery goes dead. 🙂👍🏻

Thanks for Watching! That's what happened to my old truck. I don't really drive it much. I try to run it to the store or something at least once a month. It got away from me this winter though.

I just bought the FRO1235 Looks the same but my front is red and black. I first tried it on a battery that I knew had a full charge. I set it for maintenance (snowflake) a few seconds later my battery was sizzling so I shut it down. Seems to start out on boost for 10 mins before going to maintenance.

Yes, it starts off in a high charge 1st then goes into a slower charge mode.

How to change the volts from 12v to 6v?

I have not put a 6 volt battery on this charger yet. The operation of it seems to be pretty automatic though. When I do I'm just going to hook it up and see if the charger recognizes that it's a 6 volt. Again though I'm really not sure currently.

I was going to return mine I had the new version BATTERY CHARGER WITH ENGINE ST SHM-FR01335 and the directions are just stupid. They should have someone do a complete how to video on these with trouble shooting as well.They also need to make the lettering BIGGER I am NOT good with electricity or tiny print, lol!

Is it testing the battery when you first plug it in and it clicks on then off repetitively?

If I remember correctly, it does test the battery before it starts charging.

What does SUL mean? That's what the red light area shows the voltage level teads.

If I remember correctly that is an error code. If you go to Schumacher's website, you can down load the manual and see what the code means.

SUL means the charger has detected that your battery may be sulfated. The charger will attempt to de-sulfate the battery and SUL will remain on the display during that time. The manual says it can take 8-10 hours.
