The camera work is fascinating in that we often see the exact cello bow to the string in several passages. I imagine that this would be very useful to cello players. But it was also useful to me as a mere viewer. I loved it. Thanks so very much. A gorgeous tribute to Schumann by Soltani & Eschenbach.

Apart from the rather curtailed ending, what a marvellous work.Concise, terse and compressed. Read a comment about another cello concerto being 'the greatest' - goodness, overblown, vacuous, formulaic and poorly scored in parts in comparison.( Also 19th century ). This gets better the more often you return to its call.

From 30 years ago, as a painting and an amateur string student specially the 8 year of my university in Isfahan, living in 400 year old houses with murmurs silence of strange happenings of the history just in my backyard, until about a few years ago , I used to listen to Shcuman’s melancholic cello concerto, very difficult to play, without knowing the tragedy of his creeping brain illness, and it’s crippling emotional effects of so many ups and downs of behaviour and inner pains.
