Great video, thanks for posting. Not gonna lie; that pen on the front cover made me feel uneasy 😂. I recently bought my first Schuyler, a Quentel ESV (Black Pearl, FY), and love it. I also don't highlight or mark it. I have several older bibles that I did that in, and there was a time for that, but now I don't find it necessary. I have a journal to write in and makes notes. I think I will eventually buy the PSQ, but let me wait sometime and save up some money!

Can’t go wrong with a Schuyler. Thanks for sharing the 2 year review.

Your thought process on highlighting and marking your Bible is exactly how I feel about it. I have a Bible I do that with but just one and it's not my Schuyler. I have the NASB PSQ and absolutely love it. Great video.

I love my NKJV in Imperial Blue and use it regularly.....an absolute favourite and such a perfect size, and have had it 10 months and is like new. That pen in the front was a worry to see, though, and thought that you could have kept it elsewhere because it will cause damage over time, but only time will tell. For me the pen in there looks frightening! Thanks for sharing!

Yes, by all means - put the pen in your shirt pocket because over time the pen will damage your PSQ. And shirts are much cheaper to replace than Schuylers!

Its amazing how well your PSQ has lasted. I've had my PSQ ESV for about three years now, with slate goatskin. They're fantastic small Bibles, perfect for travel; amazing premium quality; cross-references, note paper (I see you've used yours well 😄), maps. Schuyler are making some of the best Bibles available. I also agree about notes and highlighting/underlining: better to use a notebook, and fully write out what the understanding I'm given from the Scriptures.

I have the exact same Bible - I got it July 2020 - I just started my 3rd full read through of it and carry it in the large pocket of my vest all day at work - It has held up super well. I love It. Might have to get one of the new ones with a zipper that they are making.

the faces i made to the pen mark was a little cringe.... then i saw the writing in it and i was shocked... and THEN this man picks up his bible by one page and my jaw dropped. My Schuyler personal size Canterbury fy was screaming from inside the box in my book cabinet at you. Nice video and God bless you. This was scary none the less.

You can get a pen loop to stick on the front or back of the back. They come in packs of five for less than $10.

Great video brother! I feel the same about highlighting in my Bible. That is a great idea with the pen! I don't know why I never thought of that 😆.

I tend to agree, I never write in my Bible… never. But I always have a blank notebook next to me and I prefer this method better over the years. Would rather replace a filled notebook than a filled Bible.!

This an for the video. Can’t wait for mine to come in. Do you have any recommendations for a good case for this Bible? I’m not a huge fan of the conventional “bible cases” because they do more harm than good in my opinion. Just looking for something to carry it around in that I can remove it easily and maybe with an extra pocket for my highlighters and pens etc.

I carry a separate journal and keep my pen there if that’s an idea for you. I agree w highlighting too. I use a pencil in the Bible. Clearer notes

Hi, there. Jews wouldn't ever place a pen inside a Bible. They use the yad to follow the reading, and wouldn't dare to make indentations. Our Christian friends should treat their Bibles with more care. Shalom
@ChrisGSTL2 жыл бұрын
Hi Yordy. I’m not Jewish so therefore I don’t follow their traditions. Also, Christianity is not so much how we physically treat the Bible as it is how we allow the written Word to affect and change our hearts in the process of pursuing holiness through sanctification. I do not believe it’s disrespectful or a sin to keep a pen in our personal Bibles or writing in them. Such a view is not Biblical, but rather a tradition made and held my men.
@yordymessianicjew73362 жыл бұрын
@@ChrisGSTL Shalom, dear brother. I agree with what you say about the spiritual value of sanctification and it's not a sin to place a pen inside a Bible. I know you are not Jewish, but one reflection...why then put an expensive cowhide, goatskin, calfskin leather on them? It's because we love the Word of God, including the physical thing. We are spirit, but we have a body. I wrote because I want your physical Bible to last longer. That's all I meant. I know it's a man made thing. One more thing...have you ever thought why the Dead Sea Scrolls have lasted until the 21st Century? They put them in clay jars and hid them. There's a purpose for everything, dear brother. Anyhow, I love your KZbin channel, and I will continue to enjoy it! Blessings to you too. Yordy

Buy a second copy, perhaps have it in a humidor with a bit of essential oil (lemongrass, cinnamon, spearmint.... frankincense) to get some mold protection into it along with getting the moisture content where you want it, then wrap it in saran wrap and put it in a sealed container. Then YOLO that original bible however you want! Truth be told, you should have extras stashed JIC for anything valuable. Enjoy your Cadillac but have a beater in the garage too.

Why spend so much on an extraordinary Bible then damage the cover with a pen and lift it up by a single page? There are dozens of ways to carry a pen with you. This is just stupid. Sorry, but it’s hard to take this seriously.
