I did this loop today and loved it! First time on any river. And I have you to thank for getting me out there. That dock at lock60 in the canal was whack! But great experience altogether. Thanks so much Bert for psyching me up to do this! I’ll keep watching, Laurie

Hey Bert. Taking my boy out in the canoe with fishing rods. Gonna do Bert’s Loop. Appreciate the portage detail. Another thought: have you ever used septa to reposition? I.e. the 99 bus to Phoenixville. Dams get in the way, though, don’t they. Thinking about Phoenixville to the Norristown dam (NTC)

Never thought of Septa as an option, but if it works, why not! I hope you enjoyed the paddle!

Was on Lake Nockamixon yesterday and saw a tree full of birds like that too. I also spotted a bald eagle fly overhead!

Just getting out and seeing those sights is worth the effort! I have a buddy that just bought a place near Nockamixon, so I'll probably start boating there more frequently soon.

Bert, Just completed this loop on Saturday for the first time thanks to your video. This is a great little trip. I will add it is also great for those paddling with dogs as there is a nice dog park adjacent to the Port Providence takeout. I expect to be back doing this loop many times. Great running into you at Marsh Creek a few weeks back. Looking forward to seeing more of your fun adventures in the future!

Love your videos!! Just got into kayaking started with the sea eagle 370 getting the 420 next week because I saw the way you drag this thing with no worries!! Can’t wait for your next adventure!

That's awesome! I saw a couple out on the lake yesterday doing their first paddle with a new 420. It's a great boat and I'm sure you'll enjoy. If you're anywhere near the Philly area let me know! Always up for meeting new people on the water.

Was just there yesterday, but only did a little. Can't wait to do it all. How long is the part where you carry the kayak?
@bertsadventures99742 жыл бұрын
Hey Lisa! It is a great little loop. When you get to the top of the canal it is only about 50 yards to the river. Super easy. When you have to portage from River back to canal it is a few hundred yards. I use my kayak cart and it is pretty easy, but I see a lot of people just drag their kayaks. Message me on fb if you ever want to do the loop. Always looking for new paddle buddies! Bert Graul on fb.

Hey Bert, absolutely love your videos. I have the Sea Eagle Explorer 380x also. May I ask what paddle you are using? I need a good longer one. Thanks in advance. Laurie

Hey Laurie! I got it on Amazon. It is a 280 cm Kerco. Carbon Fiber shaft and fiberglass blades. It wasn't too expensive. I think it's a Chinese knockoff, but it works! Thanks for the comment and I appreciate you watching!

Any plans on going on some of the other big rivers in the area such as the Delaware or Lehigh? I'm hoping to paddle the Arthur Kill ship graveyard off of Staten Island this year. There's a kayak tour company in NJ that will take you there.
@bertsadventures99743 жыл бұрын
Hey Kelli! Part of my problem is that I really don't have paddle friends, yet, but I'm working on it! I'm heading back up to Pine Creek Gorge in a couple of weeks and will be paddling the Lehigh (hopefully) many times this year. Also going to Ohiopyle first week of June and want to do the Potomac as well. Never heard of Arthur Kill so will have to research that one!

@@bertsadventures9974 well I'm always looking for paddle friends too! I only starting last Summer and none of my friends (nor the husband) are interested. Seriously if you ever want an occasional Sea Eagle paddle buddy, let me know!

Hi Bert. Did you change from the inflatable seats to the high backs? Which do you prefer? Thanks!
@bertsadventures99743 жыл бұрын
Hey Greg! Good catch by you. Yes, I did make the change and the jury is still out. I also purchased the square inflatable cushion because I didn't want to give up the elevation of the inflatable seat. Now I'm even higher and it is awesome. It took me a while to find the right position, but I think I'm set now. Of course when I do whitewater I'll remove the cushion and also install the thigh straps I purchased this winter.
