The Predator is a 1987 American science fiction action film directed by John McTiernan and written by brothers Jim and John Thomas. This is the first part of the Predator series. Arnold Schwarzenegger plays Dutch Schafer, the leader of an elite paramilitary rescue team who encounters a deadly predator during a mission to rescue hostages in guerrilla-controlled areas of the Central American rainforest.
