Its amazing to me how those concrete pumps work. They are like everything else, wish the engineers that design them were required to have at least 3 to 5 years experience working on them. I bet there would be more room to work. Lol, great video and stay safe sir

what is the purpose of the water tank and the mud cups?
@MuddyfeetConcretePumping3 жыл бұрын
The rubber mud cups is what goes on the end of the hydraulic rams and sucks mud into the material cylinders and pushes it out through the system once it starts to discharge. The water box lubricates the backside of the mud cups and helps cool the hydraulic rams as they work.

That seemed relatively easy, I remember doing that on my dad's pump, you had to drain the whole water tank when you replaced the mud cups. It was a lot easier than what you go through, but it was a different style of pump.

Sorry not related to this video. Are the pumps not allowed to wash out back into the empty mixer ?? I see alot of sponge ball blow back ??
@MuddyfeetConcretePumping4 жыл бұрын
Your not able to get all of the concrete out of your hopper and system. Doll we have to pull a sponge back to get it out and then dump the hopper. Some guys do what we call a water wash but I don’t allow my guys to do that. I don’t trust the process and don’t want to take a chance rock packing the system.

Hey Jeff how long do you how many hours do you get out of your mud cups before you have to replace them again after you put them in this time versus say 6 months from now or whatever how long does it take

I’m not sure how many hours. I go off of the color of the water in the water box.

I have a question about the Concord pump truck. Does it have a separate engine to run the hydraulic pump or is it driven by the truck engine PTO? Also, is the grease you used on the cups LPS Aqua? Thank you for sharing your entertaining adventures. Keep yourself, family and friends, safe, healthy, wealthy and happy in these crazy times.
@MuddyfeetConcretePumping4 жыл бұрын
The hydraulic pumps are ran off of the PTO of the truck. I have no idea on the grease. It’s heavy duty grease from NAPA. I’ve been using it for years and I thinks it’s the best you can buy. Or at leas5 is available for us.

I just started watching the channel and I have enjoyed the videos so far. I don't know anything about the pump that you are working on but could you cycle the cylinder back a few inches at 13:35 to separate the dog bone instead of using the hammer?

hola soy técnico de schwing PERÚ yo cuando cambio embolos saco el acople central y tengo un perno que pongo en la ranura del piston hidraulico y jaló el émbolo con el mismo pistón porque no lo hace así si para eso es la ranura ? Hello, I am a schwing PERU technician. When I change the piston, I take out the central coupling and I have a bolt that I put in the slot of the hydraulic piston and pulled the plunger with the same piston because it does not do so if that is what the slot is for?

How many hours those things last? And do they last the same time in truck pump? And while I’m being nosy which of your pieces stays the busiest; pump, big truck, or smaller truck?
@MuddyfeetConcretePumping4 жыл бұрын
Patrick West right now they are probably equal as far as busy. Honestly I don’t keep up with the hours on the mud cups because sometimes you may have more ideal time than others. I watch my water in the water box and I keep a spare set on hand. If my water starts getting really cloudy on a 10 to 20 yard pump job then I know it’s getting close to time to change. I try to avoid getting any grout build up in the water box.

@MuddyfeetConcretePumping4 жыл бұрын
Dennys Lopez I’m sorry bud I thought answered all the comments. As far as hours go on mud cups I don’t keep up with them for that. Their are to many variables like idol time. I go off of how dirty my water gets in the water box. Ideally you want to change them before grout starts getting in their.

I don’t go off of hours. These pumps have some idling time. I go off of my water in the water box and how dirty it gets.
@barbumarius13594 жыл бұрын
my water in the water box is clear the pump has only 246 hours and probably around 500 hours i had to change the mudcups. a friend of mine has change the mudcups at 660 hours.
@MuddyfeetConcretePumping4 жыл бұрын
barbu marius right. Sometimes it depends on the slump of the mud and like these trailer pumps it depends on the pump pressure from pushing long distances. This is why I don’t go off of hours. Their are other variables that could show you signs of wear.

Try pipe lube on the rubber end. Of the cup. Petroleum base grease will degrade the rubber. A big tub of it at a plumbing supply is about $12 You would have to evaluate. If it makes a difference. They might wear out just as fast. The stone and sand in the mix is a harsh environment. The grease is probably out of there pretty fast.
