My grandfather opened up a schwinn bicycle store in 1926...my dad bought it from him in the 1960s and the shop is still thriving today and my dad at 84 still works there 6 days a week

Sal, his brother Terry and sister Jenny were so much fun to hang with back in the early, early 80's! Sal is sorely missed!!

I wanted a Schwinn Scrambler so bad, but they were too much for us. My “rich” frenemy got the dark red one with yellow mags. He was the envy of the neighborhood. He was also the first of us to have leather Nike high tops. Funny to think back at that now.

I was 11 in Papillion, NE, there was a Schwinn shop where those Scramblers were hanging up for sale. The blue and red one's, and some with Tuff Wheels. They looked amazing, such high quality, with the price tag to match, like you said. I moved from there to San Antonio, TX. in 1980 and began a suceessful 4 yr BMX racing career.

I had the red phantom mag. Cool bike, but of course I wanted the Sting when I got into racing.🤟

Was 11 in '78, miss those old tracks. They were the real deal. When my son started racing, the tracks were mostly asphalt, especially the turns. Just not same. Thanks for sharing and uploading!
