@@mareau13 while I really liked this bike and it's a very quality build... I did sell it and got a peloton. The reason I did that is because Peloton offers so much more than just spin classes and the instructors are amazing. I often take strength classes with weights, yoga, of course spin too... The platform gives me a lot of motivation. Lastly, I can easily monitor my heart rate on the screen. Having said that the IC4 is still an amazing bike and I highly recommend it... But speaking for myself... Peloton ultimately is a better fit for me. Hope this helps.

That's exciting! I love Peloton and have already become a lot less fat. This pandemic has been horrible for fitness but the Schwinn IC4 and Bowflex SelectTech weights have kept me going! I'll have to check out Studio Sweat too. I haven't tried that yet. Oh and BTW, have you seen the Apple Fitness+ App that's coming in a few weeks? #IC4

I haven't tried Apple fitness. But make sure you try Studio Sweat they have so many different spin classes and the also combined them with weight training, core training etc.

We removed the drink holders. Wobbly seat is usually due to improper seating. We had that and then I found that the pin wasn't all the way engaged.

Sold! I have been back and forth with a better option or less expensive option then the Pelton, and this is going to be my solution. I dont want to pay $40.00 a month for a subscription to the Pelton app, plus the over $2,000 price tag on that bike. I have a home gym so I think this will be a nice addition and I will just put it in front of my smart tv in my gym. Thanks again, great video!

We tackled assembling the bike as a family project. kzbin.infoUgkxzg0clhbtRf2gGxPkVETFKJJKGqdsorQu The package is heavy, but I have 2 teen boys that were able to move it. The written instructions were great- we didn't need to watch the videos, but it was good knowing that the option was there if we needed it. After we were able to get it set up, the boys each rode 3 miles and I rode 8 and the bike stayed quiet. The display is easy to reset, and you can put it on whichever setting you are using (time, distance, calories, etc). I will say that my butt is a little sore from the seat, but that could be because I haven't rode in a while. While it is comfortable for me, it was not comfortable with the seat position for my friend (could not move the seat back far enough and he slightly looked like a kid riding a tricycle that he had outgrown). He also said that the seat hurt his manly parts. We are going to look for a different seat that will be compatible with this bike for him.I did purchase the Wahoo Cadence sensor and strapped it to the crank of one of the pedals. This will sync with my Apple Watch, iPhone and will import data in to my Health app. Wahoo does have other sensors available other than cadence. I can also keep either my phone or my iPad on the display and they both feel pretty secure.

My wife has been loving this bike for around 5 years now, It just started squeaking. I try to listen while my wife rides but I still can’t figure it out. Any idea of what I can check that could possibly causing the squeak?

Maybe try pedaling while standing and pedaling while seated. If the squeaking in only while seated then it may be isolated to the seat and/or seat post. Mine is still whisper-quiet but I keep it lubricated with silicone lube.

Depends on the app. You can use iPhone AirPlay feature to stream to compatible TVs. What I do now though is natively run Apple Fitness+ on my Apple TV 4K and then my iPhone plays no role. My Apple Watch tracks all of my performance metrics while I workout and I can see it on my Apple TV 4K's Apple Fitness+ screen! It's a great experience!

i bet a 65" tv would be amazing. I set up a tv on a stand mount. so can be moved anywhere . the schwinn to peloton chart all only go to 50 but some times instructors go to 60 or 65 since 50 = 49 on schwinn does that mean everything over 50 is as said. I have ordered an ic8 being delivered Monday tried it in the shop. and it feels so good. i have a cheaper felt pad bike and have no idea resistance I am using and its far noisier. when i bought it I thought it was a magnetic one, but when it arrived it was not.

Amazing review! It's in my cart now...but my main concern is figuring out resistance. I maintain 10 resistance on a Schwinn cycle at my gym. Does the screen show resistance? Is 10 resistance on this bike intense?

My TV has Airplay, so I’d launch Peloton App from my iPhone and then AirPlay from iPhone to TV. Apple Fitness+ at least currently is different and would require an Apple TV 4K. There are lots of forums on this issue, like Reddit. It’s a known issue. Some say its due to not putting the pedal on tight or its a bad part. In that case, some folks have purchased different pedals off Amazon.

Great review. Any tips on proper pedal installation? Last bike I had did not go well right pedal came off and stripped after 3.5 rides!! Now I am starting to think the Handyman who set up the bike did not install it properly from the start. 😳🤪🚴🏿‍♀️🧐🚴🏿‍♀️

The IC4’s heart rate monitor pairs with the IC4’s computer and works well. However, since I use the Apple Watch, it works too but my Apple Watch pairs with my phone vs. pairing with the IC4’s computer. It’s really a matter of personal preference and whether or not you own an Apple Watch. I like wearing the Ape Watch for my workouts because it collects an abundance of data beyond heart rate.

Hey man, check the link within this video's description to find both models. Thanks in advance! The short answer is IC4 has magnetic resistance and it can pair with a lot of cycling apps. If you want to use apps, go IC4. With that said, Apple Fitness+ would work with either!

That's what's great about the IC4! You don't have to use apps! You can just pedal, stare at the wall and use the built-in computer/heart rate monitor to track your stats! What I'd suggest though is placing your Android phone on the holder between the handlebars to watch KZbin, movie, etc. while you ride though =). I bought the pro form Tour de France from Costco yesterday on sale for $299.. good bike for the price I suppose.. however, display didn’t work right out of the box.. they are sending a new wiring harness 🤦🏻‍♂️.. also, bike doesn’t use ac power, only batteries for the display..worried about battery usage.. perhaps I will return this bike and get the Schwinn

Did you notice that resistance at lowest levels feels stiff or too hard at a 0 or 5, etc? Any fixes for that? I haven't tried to recalibrate yet as I heard you can only do that 3 times...

I haven’t. I googled “Peloton to IC4 conversion chart” and reference those numbers. Doing so has worked well for me. I have not and will not attempt the recalibration because of what you mentioned.

I can totally do the pelaton conversion but was worried that even at 0 it seems harder than it should be.....when compared to my other spin bikes, road bikes, bikes in spinning class...I may try to call them and see if schwinn has trouble shooting suggestions

Katie Marie I got my schwinn on Friday and noticed the same issue. Called customer service and they are sending someone out to take a look. The resistance at level 0 is way too hard. Hope they can fix it, otherwise I’m sending it back.

@@shamrock4840 Gotcha! That's what I like about Apple Fitness+. The indoor rowing and cycling workouts provide the motivational component of the instructor. When I hike, walk, jog, bike, etc. outside I can still track those workouts too (without the instructor). The iFit that I used was the 10+ year old version...it was in its infancy. I haven't tried the current iFit version.

That exciting! The IC4 has exceeded my expectations so far and I have not encountered any issues. The magnetic resistance is smooth and quiet. It has been a MAJOR upgrade from an old exercise bike that I had many years ago that use friction pads for resistance.

Very easy! I can pick it up with one hand and carry it. I don’t roll it, even though it has wheels. The wheels could scratch the floor. If you want to make it lighter, quick disconnect the seat post and handlebars and carry those separately. That’s one of the big selling points of this bike....being able to easily move through standard interior doors. Most treadmills can’t do that :). Yes, the Peloton bike is married to their proprietary ecosystem. I used to own a Peloton and that was something I didn’t like about it. From what I can tell visually, the Schwinn IC4 looks like it’s a better bike all-around, at a better price.

I just bought this from dicks with a 10% email sign up coupon on their frontpage (just use an alt email if you were already signed up). I bought this because of the display screen, clipless pedals, and heartrate monitor included, i know it comes with weights but thats not a huge incentive imo. Im kind of wondering if I should have bought the Echelon Connect Sport, but think the better build quality and additional features are worth the expense of roughly $300. Though the connect comes with 6 months of classes from Walmart. And I kind of like the broadness of their classes.

Have had the IC4 for about a year now. Overall, a really nice bike . . . the pedals, however, are pieces of crap. The clip one one pedal had clear metal fatigue and simply sheared off. Replaced mine with Shimano . . . nothing but a run-around from Schwinn despite a 5 year protection plan purchased with the bike. I would say save your money on the protection plan purchase because Schwinn is going to short change you and pay out or replace . . . NOTHING! At least, if my experience is typical.

I had the same unbearable issue…I went to WalMart and they had a wider Schwinn seat in black that improve the situation greatly. It isn’t perfect, but much better! I got a 12.9 inch iPad with a Zugu Case which allows me to change the angle on the screen for better viewing. All’s good!

Peloton App has become my go-to but Apple Fitness+ should be releasing any day now! I’m super excited about Apple Fitness+ because it should be able to track all of my workouts (home, gym, outdoors) regardless or the equipment or the activity. Zwift would be super cool if they somehow gamified it.

Unfortunately, my experience with Schwinn (IC3 model) was less than satisfactory. Left pedal continually loosened while riding. I used thread locker to secure same but not before thread stripped, which necessitated new crankarms (supplied under warranty). The pedal axle itself was also warped and rotated eccentrically. The saddle failed to secure and I employed a shim on the seat post to hold the saddle in the proper orientation. Lastly, the crank arm bearings failed and the crank assembly, axle and bearings, require replacement. I have owned this bike for 7 months and did ride daily but to my measure, too many quality issues to inspire confidence.
