All the bikes had pedals. You have to understand what it took to store all these bikes in a space while still having to fit everything else normally found in an average garage and do it in a manner that would not risk further damage to them. My latest video covers this in detail as well as a few other popular questions. Just wanted to bring this up as it is a question posted almost repeatedly. Thanks for the interest in the video!

I remember a lot of those bikes do you have any John Deere Bikes in your collection along with back in the early '70's B/P gas stations had a couple bikes for a give away prize as well... The B/P Bikes were 3-speeds green in color I bearly remember them but I have seen one years ago .. The John Deere Bikes were the in the early '70s as well they had the banana seat style, I'm thinking the ten speed style and I think there was a 3-speed as well...

‘60 model here, too. These were “out of our league” when we were kids. I can remember going to the dealer to check em out. Had a Stingray with a banana seat. Used to do one-handed wheelies around the corner. It also doubled as our BMX bike. THOSE WERE THE DAYS

My first bike was a Typhoon my dad bought me and I hated. I thought it looked archaic and wanted a Sting Ray. I saved my money and traded up from my typhoon. But even on the Typhoon I was a terror. Used to ride down this big hill standing on one leg, either on the main tube or on the handle bars like I was an acrobat. Freaked people out who don't understand the gyroscope effect of spinning wheels at 25 mph plus. I was too stupid to have any fear. Or maybe too fatalistic. I figured if nothing else killed me first I'd be shipped off to Viet Nam to die in a jungle. Gotta understand, by 1972, we had been doing just that with our youth my entire life. Its just how it was. Adulthood seemed like a fantasy.

Back in 1970 I was building oversize - stretched Stingrays putting 20" wheels on 24" frames. The pedals were close to the ground but you learned to ride with hardly ever hitting the pedals. A friend got a brand new 5 speed Pea Picker and we started hanging because he was looking for someone to ride with not afraid to ride on trails down by the river. We used to ride our Stingray bikes- mine with tall sissy bar- on the trails. Who needs a BMX thing, stingray the ' all purpose' machine. In 1978 I bought a nice Apple Krate for about $60 , I wanted to try building a stretch Apple Krate . I took it all apart and then got into other things. My brothers friends came and stole all the parts. I only rode it about 10 feet.

I had a 5 speed stingray when I was a kid. Was stolen when I rode it to the A&P store for my mom. Was rattle can metallic red I painted it. Rear turnsignal , the 8 ball shifter broke so I had replaced it with a handlebar shift lever. Also replaced the mini disk wheel with a full size rim with white lettered tire. Never found it but my dad brought it home in a box in pieces and we built it together. Wish I could find it today. I was 10 or 11. Im 59 now. That was a long sad walk home that day.

Had a ‘70 Lemon Peeler when I was a kid , almost had it stolen outside of a convenience store I stopped at on the way to my grandmother’s house. 3 kids were eyeing it up when I came out, and one was even sitting on it. I told him to get off it and luckily store owner saw what was happening and told the kids to scram. I remember riding away from there feeling so scared about what had almost happened. I still have that bike today, along with an Orange Krate, Apple Krate and Pea Picker.

I had a 70's Schwinn Cruiser.. I absolutely adored that bike and wouldn't let it out of my sight. I kept it immaculate.. When all of my friend's bikes got stolen, I was able to keep mine. When I graduated high-school and started driving, I kept my bike safe in my room. My brother took my beautiful bike and sold it in the 80's for $30 without my permission.. Today, I have a collection of 5-SPEED Schwinn Cruisers and 20" bikes. Maybe one day I'll find my beautiful 70's Schwinn Cruiser.

Loved my Sting Ray! Parents bought it used at a garage sale in the early 70s so I’m guessing it was a mid to late 60s basic model that was a copper/orange color. I could “pop a wheelie” and ride that wheelie for what seemed like forever. We also used to clip baseball cards to the front fork with clothespins to make it sound like we were riding motorcycles. We only used the rookie cards of course because we didn’t know those guys 😂. Couple of my friends, who’s parents had $$, had the Krates with tall sissy bars and were all tricked out. They were awesome bikes but I still loved my Plain Jane garage sale Sting Ray!

My parents gave me a 1965 Blue Schwinn Deluxe Sting Ray for Christmas that year. It replaced the red Schwinn Racer they got me a few years earlier. They bought it at a store in My Holly, NJ called Checkers. Man I loved that bike, I was the first kid on the block to have one. In fact no one else had one for a year, so I was the coolest kid on our block. No we weren’t rich dad worked hard in a factory. It didn’t have the hand brakes nor the shifter, they came later. I switched out the original banana seat for a blue metal flake one with a rear sissy bar which extended 4” above the seat. I did wheelies all day, laid long tire patches with the racing slick it came with. Oh and I won all the bike races against all comers, that thing could go super fast. It was the bestest childhood. Thanks Dad, (RIP.)

Wow what a collection! I know the Sting Ray Fastback and the 'Krates' were the ultimate versions of the Sting Ray but most of the Schwinn Sting Rays that kids had in my neighborhood were the base or deluxe models..kids who had the 'Fastback' or 'Krate' versions probably had parents with deeper pockets. My favorite in this collection is the '65 Sting Ray Deluxe copper/orange color with the whitewall tires and chrome fenders..that's the version I recall seeing the most when I was a kid most often in blue or red color.
