Best Vintage Schwinn Stingray I've Ever Seen!

Saw this vintage Schwinn Stingray at the 2012 Rockford Vintage Bike show. I'm not a Stingray collector but if I wanted one in my bike collection this one would be it! Mint condition + lots of extra parts, and I think it's got a 5 speed gearing.

Can`t be a Sting Ray and a Fastback . Sting Rays had fat tires and Fastbacks had skinny tires

THhis it he Grape Krate, not a Stingray, the Stingray had a larger wheel in the frnot. GORGEOUS bike!

Oh, wow you had the 'Lemon Peeler' ! That was the yellow ones' name! ', There was: 'Lemon Peeler', Orange Krate', Apple Krate', 'Grape Krate', 'Coal Krate', Cotton Krate'. and 'Gray Ghost' !!!One in mint shape ORIGNAL not a repro, is about $2,000 MINIMUM and I have seen them to $4,000. I mena SHINY LikE FACTORY NEW! YO ucan get a good, okay shape one for about $750.

A neighborhood kid had a purple stingray. I couldn't tell you what it was called but was a 5 speed and purple.

It was probably a Huffy Rail, most likely wouldn't have been a Schwinn because they didn't make that color.

Who cares if they never made a grape krate... Dear sweet lord, it's still a cool bike... I can't ride on these bikes but I'm building a 26 inch version.. cruiser style of a pea picker.... Adults like cool bikes too... Who cares if it's original... As long as it's fun to ride.. there was never a black stingray either but I've seen plenty of rebuilt stingray bikes painted black.. well there was the koal krate and the 66 fastback which I think was black. Point is, as long as the bikes are fun to ride who gives a rip if it's a repop or an original..

Stingrays are not my thing, so I don't know too much about them. I think when I was a kid though that the 5 speed would be nice!
