I saw an article about Korea actually managed to do one. They cross lasers and you can see the intersection of them in mid air. Look for the 3inch rubics cube hologram they did.

For the last Story: Maybe he has copied his memories in a machine and gots money for that. The machine Frank has not found any meaning in his life and after it. That makes him sad and so he hopes that when he will visit his grave, that he will found a hint that there is something in it that shows the machine Frank that he has done anything meaningful after he has copied his memories with the money he got for that experiment. Perhaps Machine Frank hopes that he then will find meaning in life now. Maybe the author wants to tell us, that you must not look in the path to find meaning in your life, you have to find meaning in your life now by moving on. I hope that helps. I havent understood everything because Iam not a native speaker.
