What was confusing you about drawing the same card is that unlike every other deckbuilder, there is no discard pile. When cards are discarded either during or at end of your turn, they're shuffled back into the draw pile.

That's what I was noticing in the first few battles, too. It can also confuse a lot of new players with no discard pile, and when a card says "draw 1 card," and the card they draw is the same card that drew itself. At least it makes it more interesting to the player to keep the deck size down so that you draw your better cards more often and not your junk starting cards every turn. Of course, the tutorial should also have talked about how the draw pile works in the game, since I didn't see that explained in the tutorials of the game.

im stil working on getting that last ship. what i did notice is that its easier to go via the proper exit point at the start of them map rather than one ya find. otherwise ya gonna fly into an area ya not ready and get wiped out. ya gotta just grind and grind till ye get the plus one hp and shield each fight. then grind til ya have a ton of life and shields before moving on

Did you notice (I think) cards are set up like little 3 1/2 inch disks. The little tab on the top is like the metal shield that protected the disk. I think.

I’m sure I won’t be the first to mention it but each ship has a certain amount of equipment slots… which I didn’t notice at first. Nice thing is you can change what you have equipped

this game hits all the right spots for me, dope sound track, sci-fi, deck builder, pixel art, space pirates. One of the only games i knew i was going to buy 5 minutes into the episode. If you enjoy the game i would absolutely love for you to play more of this!

As for defending real big damage, there are cards that disable the enemy or change their intent

This game really needs some more graphical effects, like an animation for the Recyclotron firing and the ship being on fire.

You should try a game called Crying Suns, it's a nice sci-fi strategy roguelike you might like

The fuel stealing card seems broken, because you can destroy all the ships but one, then stall and gain infinite fuel.

I do like this game but mechanics is little bit strange. Your cards have always a fixed amount damage, but enemies have a random range damage.

Is that one ship you "find" still the best? Played this a while ago. The starter cards for that one ship are op. (ZeRo cost, draw 1, gain boost) Completely trivializes the game.

after playing ftl lately I this does really want to mimick both the map and resource management like ftl,though extra fuel and resource spending I've only really seen on the multiverse mod

Seeing slay the spire and then this game just makes you appreciate the spire even way more.. it seems cool and all but the lack of polish in many areas of the game just makes you get disappointed instead
