For the future or current Science Bowl students: I'm going to be honest, study tools to do with past questions only give you a sense of how to perform in the competition and a few of the most commonly asked questions. However, this method scales *horribly* into higher-level competitions: double elims for regionals: already your knowledge is weak from this method and it'll just fail more and more as you go into regional finals, nats, and beyond. Another thing: you're a team. Divide and conquer. Each person has a "main" and each person has a "secondary", that way you have 2 people on each subject. Focus only on your main until you're good at it. How to git gud: Crash Course holds up until ~regional finals, after that it gets more and more useless. If you want to push a few rounds in nats, full-on reading a textbook is pretty much the only way to go (or taking an AP course). Campbell for bio, atkins for chem, tarbuck for ess, knight OR giancoli's for physics and AoPS for math. Don't just skim through it either: take notes and make flashcards for the terms. Recommend remnote: hybrid between bullet notes and flashcards. If you want paper notes just grab a pentel energel off amazon and go off on graph paper. GL;HF

I completely agree. Preparing for an olympiad on your specific "main" and forming a good team is your key to success.

Protobowl is cool but I would recommend it for more than a couple weeks as it can cause issues. Qbreader is an better option for Protobowl and also has a db

protobowl is epic and no one can tell me otherwise

I tell you otherwise. It’s good but I don’t reccomend it for more than a few months, as it doesn’t cover a whole lot of the canon and is a little outdated. Qbreader is my personal favorite and they have a db and tend to keep it updated.

I just started academic challenge at my school and have no idea how to gain knowledge… this video helped though for sure. Let me know if you have any other tips for complete beginners with this kind of stuff though, that would be much appreciated :)
