That toilet bong diagram isn't even correct. The straw/tube would have to end in the water. Then you would have to seal off the rest of the bowl of water with some kind of barrier to prevent simply breathing in the air around the toilet bowl and force it to come from the tank. The way it is drawn, it would kinda work, but you've designed a really over-engineered pipe, not a bong, because it would not get filtered through the water at all and the smoke would simply come in through the tube. Also you'd be breathing in fumes leading up from the sewer pipe, overall it's a terrible idea. Just use a soda bottle instead.
