***** Many of the other riders were doping really hard too; they just didn't confess it. If you follow Lance on Strava, you know that up until today the man still exercises like a beast. Yes, he doped; but he is one hell of a rider, and that you can't deny.

Joao Pedro ::: Others tested positive, they did not need to confess. He sure is a beast, looking back to a triathlon he did when he was like 15 yrs old against pro riders, its simply incredible.

Even with the doping scandal, I still have great respect of his achievements and I still consider him among the best. Big parts of the cyclers cheated some way and I'm still wondering who would have won when everyone played fair. But even with dope, you don't just win seven tours in a row.

Yup one big thing is by all accounts all the GC riders of that time were on the same stuff as lance so although it’s technically not legal I think it was fair game.

He's a genetic mutant for one. Came back from cancer 15 lbs lighter with the same power output. One of the highest VO2 max tests in history, psychotic in terms of discipline, training and preparation. Was a huge early adopter of technology in his training, in particular, power meters. Some athletes are just that much better or gifted from God than the other studs in their sport. LA was one of those guys. www.topendsports.com/testing/records/vo2max.htm

im in the exact same boat, no pun intended. i rowed in college and now race on the road. although cycling does bring prolonged pain, nothing will compare to the mental strain that a 2k test or race can bring. rowing has got to be the most mentally taxing sport to be competitive at - very little excitement

Especially when everyone else is doing it! That's why it's just assumed that Lance HAD to be doping. Because guys like Ullrich were and they couldn't beat him. I know most people have their minds made up that he was dirty but he is still a once in a lifetime athlete. He was riding right alongside Mark Allen in triathlons when he was 15!! I guess he had to be doping then too. And for those that don't know, Allen was the world's best triathlete at that time.

You have no idea what you're talking about. In the mid 1990's, Armstrong was widely considered the greatest American cyclist, and many were predicting his future success as a professional. Lance doped, and dominated competitors who were also doping. The difference was his superior physiology and mental strength. Had everyone ridden clean, he would have dominated just the same.

I heard he was also accused of doping during his comeback to cycling. Wow that man had an awesome plan. Dope like crazy, get everybody on the same program or tell them to leave the team, get the UCI on your payrole, and use LIVESTRONG as a public cancer shield to hide what was really going all. He lost it all for the fame and has fallen from icon status. He's just gonna be some regular ol' dude now.

@u368 It seems your life is centered on discrediting Lance Armstrong. I hope I will not immerse myself in the personal hell of obsession and conspiracy theories that constitues your life by commenting on this. My sneaking suspicion is that you would be devastated if Lance truly did test positive (not some backroom photocopied forms from Le'Equipe) for your life would lose its purpose. I blow my nose in your general direction and at your regurgitated conjecture.

Sadly, just shows how naïve people are and how easily they can be manipulated by people/media. No idea what they're talking about yet so sadly think they do. Just regurgitating what they hear and can't think for themselves. LA was a scapegoat for a dirty sport. Payback for the French wussies not being able to win their own race. And now we are supposed to believe that the sport is clean even though it's been dirty since it's inception and the avg speed at TdF hasn't decreased.

I was inspired by this story, but now I have read the USADA 202 page report. I clearly think Lance was doping from 1999-2006. I know what made Lance better, the cocktail of banned substances flowing throw his system to win. The man is a cancer survivor and just blew everybody's dream away by cheating at all odds to win. Lance was everything that was bad about professional cycling. All these documentaries are a huge joke now! He will take a hit in the wallet after 10 sponsors dumped him.
