I had an EXTREMELY rare interaction with a Navy recruiter years ago. Had the fantasy of going for SEALs and said as much. The recruiter, without being disrespectful, looked me dead in the eye and told me to make sure, before anything else, that I wanted to join THE NAVY.

Definitely RASP. Attrition in SEALS is lower than they claim. They drop guys for bs, not because of performance or medical. Tell me why a guy can be eod after being dropped for medical or performance, be attached to a team and out perform team guys. They were just not allowed to go through buds and earn a trident.

For me, rolling 48s over the last month has been easier than the Whole30. I just fast for 48 hours, then eat for two hours (max 75 NET carbs, usually 1500 calories), then do another 48, etc. 20 pounds down since Feb. 20th. I find it to be a lot simpler and cost-effective. Obviously, you shouldn't be working out a lot during fasting because it will be much harder to recover (lack of nutrients, even with Vitamin B pills/electrolyte powders), but it is great for strictly weight loss.

Just found Jakes video content maybe a few weeks ago and it is very informative. He is trying to help prospective candidates succeed at something in the Military they want to try out for and have never done, so listen to the man. Jake is right about when you sign that contract you had better make sure that you are fit and can pass the training first time through. I was an okay swimmer but sucked at running. I was not running anywhere near of what he suggested at age 21, so I could not pass the screening to even go to BUDS. I was put on a ship in the Engineering dept. and then my run times really got worse when we stayed underway - (hard to train when you are out at sea). I was able to become a SAR swimmer but always regret joining the Navy not being a strong runner. Wish I had the guidance he is giving people now when I had enlisted.

I always tell people know matter what you wanna do or what you want in life you give everything you have and train before. Get ready for the fight and learn to use your emotions anger pain tiredness whatever it use use it to your advantage. Biggest thing no matter what DO NOT QUIT! We can fail or be hurt and rolled, but do not give up on yourself. Make sure to get ready not just physically but mentally and spiritually. I'm nobody I know nothing but I do know what happened to me and I'll always have regret that I didn't work harder and try harder to be a better soldier.

@VredesStall Жыл бұрын
@@Johnson11c What Jake means is that while having a "never quit / never say die" attitude, mentality & mind-set is very very very important... it is certainly *NOT* the end all, be all. Whether it is the Seals, SF Green Berets, Rangers, Fighter Pilots, Pro Football Players, M.I.T or Harvard Medical School and other pro athletes or elite organizations... the word "elite" / "pro" means just that... the Very Best *OF* the best. And try as you may... you are not going to simply "will" your way into something. For every Navy Seal, Green Beret, Fighter Pilot, Pro-Football Player, Tom Brady, LeBron James Brad Pitt, Tom Cruise, Beyonce, Jay-Z, 50-cent, Garth Brooks, Metallica... or whoever else who "makes it" to the elite level... there are dozens (and maybe hundreds if not thousands) who will *NOT* make it... and... for any number of reasons. To try and better explain what I'm talking about... consider both Brian Bozworth and Bo Jackson. Both Bozworth and Bo Jackson basically raised the bar and set the standard for their positions as Football players. Brian Bozworth was a highly decorated Middle Linebacker at the college level and who won the "Dick Butkus Award" as the most outstanding college linebacker not once, but twice while he was still in college... and to the best of my knowledge, that is extremely rare for an athlete to win that award twice while still in college... and Brian Bozworth might be one of very few... if not the only one... who has done so and who has won that award twice while still in college. In other words.... Brian Bozworth was one of the very best college linebackers to ever play the position. Brian Bozworth was also heavily recruited by the various teams of the NFL and was predicted to have a stellar pro career. Brian Bozworth's NFL career... while noteworthy... lasted about three seasons before he washed out due to injuries.... and his short-lived career is considered to be one of the biggest busts in NFL history. Bo Jackson had a very similar situation as his pro career was also cut short due to injuries. In summary... do not make the fatal mistake of thinking that just because you make it past the initiation phase and into to the "big time"... that you are in the clear. Like Jake has said before... BUD/S training is kindergarten and it only gets much much harder once you make it out to the Seal Teams... assuming that you even make it that far. Still want that Trident?? 🔱🔱

it means opening up when you're running. just look up running stride drills, and proper running form. basically you want to maximize your stride length without over striding, while also minimizing contact with ground (which means faster turnover rate). The combination of this will make your mile time faster slightly because you’re running more efficiently. you want to min/max everything you can.

Hey Jake, I'm the powerlifter who was in 228 and 240. I'm 5'7" as well. I mentioned before that I can put up crazy strength gains for a natty, and you said send it. Well sending it is just wtf I'm gonna do. I had plantar fasciitis for many months and just got back into the gym. I'm lifting and leaning at the same time, which is tricky, and not real fun. I'm 276 now, down from 289. I'ma go down to around 200 and put on a shit ton of strength at the same time. I'm not a natural endomorph and being this fat fukin sucks, but I couldn't work out for a long ass time. I have a medium metabolism and tend to be on the ripped side left to my own devices. Your story about losing 2 lbs a day for 21 days is solid. I can get ripped af, but never been able to do anything like you and goggins in the leaning up department. I can lose 30 lbs in 30 days, but then I slow down. I figured out over time that, when I slow down, taking a day off after lifting the previous day, loses me half a lb, every time. Conversely, if I take no days off, my leaning process flat out stops. Counterintuitive, right. You can definitely add tons of strength while dieting, as I'm gonna do, but it's a fine line. I felt like I weighed 400 lbs this morning from the weakness from dieting, lol. I say, if you're not dragging at least a little ass while dieting, you're not losing as fast as you could. Yeah, bench right now is 265 for 3. Squat is 155 for 3... I go really low with good form. Military is 155 for 5. Good mornings (I do them as a substitute for deadlifts) is 165 for 4. Pullups... I'm on the weight assisted machine at 70 for 2, and doing the same for dips. Could add many other exercises here too, but watch how fast I blow this shit up. Coming to take souls baby, lol.

@@jakezweig I was being humble brotha. I suppose I forgot to mention if I take no days off, I gain 60 lbs a month on bench, close grip bench, incline, military, rows, pullups and dips. 150 lbs a month on squats and deadlifts.

@@jakezweig I'm benching 290 now, can almost do a pull up, military 205, bent over rows 255. Know what the biggest kicker is? I started with 4 plates on the leg press and am doing 9 now, and that's all the way down, not half reps like a lotta people do.. That leg press becomes a fukin nuisance real quick for me because I soon have to start grabbing all the 45 lb plates in the gym. Not a good thing when it's busy. I could bench 445 at 22, bro. Last time I was in the gym for 4.5 months, I went from deadlifting 295 to 6 and a half plates. Gotta admit that's fukin sick for a natty.

@@jakezweig Even better, I'm doing this all while leaning up. I'm down to 266. But I'm afraid getting down to 200 or so could take me like 5 damn months. I've never plateaued bro, so I have no idea what any of my maxes are. I just know there were no signs of slowing anywhere in sight on any of my lifts.

@@jakezweig What else is a damn nuisance is the smith machine I like to use isn't bolted down, so when I get up to around 500 on squats, which is easy at for me, the damn thing starts sliding back, so I have to add dumbbells to it to prevent it. And the stronger I get, the heavier the dumbbells I gotta use. I mean, I'm not trying to be stuck in the gym all damn day, lol.
