In the final part we are discussing the pH table, how it's being misinterpreted, and why I'm tired of people arguing over silly stuff.

Soap & Clay is a family owned business operating in Washington State, but started out online thanks to Mrs. Soap & Clay's kickass brother and his amazing web design skills. The business was started as a tribute to Mrs. Soap & Clay's grandmother, the OG maker in the family that cultivated everyone's love for the DIY life. The studio/retail shop opened in 2017 on 6th Ave in Tacoma, and immediately began teaching soap, bath bomb, lotion, and scrub classes to the makers and maker enthusiasts of the PNW. In 2019, the pottery studio opened as well, making the soap shop a busy place full of artistic energy every minute of the day.
Mrs. Soap & Clay has been featured on Business Spotlight, New Day Northwest, and was awarded a coveted place on the South Sound's 40 under 40 list in 2019, an award given to the most influential business people under the age of 40 each year. She cried when she walked up to the podium to accept the award. A lot.
Drawing from her chemistry background and her maker spirit, Mrs. Soap & Clay infuses her favorite things into her soapy designs and creates products that are fun to see, use, and learn to make. Stick around for this ride - she'll take you on a great one.

You know what’s interesting?? When you google if alkaline based products are good for the hair the information you receive is from wella and Redken pop up, they are both well established brands in the Haircare industry.. there’s few information that’s coming from an independent scientific sources.

@@MrsSoapAndClay it makes me think they deliberately put these information out there to confuse the public so that we’re relying on their products. And as you pointed out before the wars and Industrial Revolution people used to make their own stuff and by doing that they used things that works for them. And now people are so reliant on products for everything being made for them. And in doing so they’ve lost some basic understanding and knowledge because there’s so many conflicting information out there not just in soap making but everything.

Thank you for being sciency so I don't have to even try. My eyes cross and my mind goes to Mars. And I'm not fighting with anyone! I don't care enough about what someone else decides to do. Why some people put their noses in someone elses business is beyond me. Love and let live! Appreciate you!

Thank you for not being a jerk about syndet lol. I agree one is likely not better than the other. Each has its place. I get slack for using synthetics in mine but guess what…they sell, fast, every time! And not one persons hair or scalp had been damaged by them. So there goes that whole theory

I bred fish for a long time so this was an expertise of mine. Considering the fact that fish live the most healthy lives in ph of 7.5-8.5, I am willing to bet that humans would live more healthy lives at a higher ph. In the aquarium world, lower ph means there is more urine, excrements, uneaten or rotting food in a fish tank and they get sick more often with ich, fish lice, fungus, and dropsy. At the 8.0 ph, fish tend to really thrive, although some can tolerate a lower ph better than other types. It is my belief, that humans would thrive at a higher ph as well, get less cancer, illness, skin issues. I am definitely NOT a Dr, but I don’t see Drs do anything but prescribe pills, not healthy living. I think if Drs would encourage healthy living, people would be far healthier. I know better health came to me with higher ph diet. That being said, soap may be a bit different, but I think if you surround your whole being with a 8 or so ph, we would also live healthier lives. I am learning the whole soap world, so don’t bash me, because I am not certain about soap, but Mrs Soap & Clay makes sense to me with her logic. Thank you for this video!

Another great upload, straight to the point no BS, I am fairly new to Soap making and don't fit into your "typical" soap maker mould, it's refreshing to see someone speak based on fact and not some old wives tale, or she said what he said what she said, so it must be true, I was reading so much info that appeared to contradict itself when I started, I ignored most of it and actually researched the subject, which is something a lot of people don't bother to do, if they did, they might be surprised what they learn 👍👍🦘🦘

I washed my hair with borax and that has a ph of 9.2, and my hair felt silky and smooth and awesome, and I’m going to make a shampoo bar and put it in and see what happens. Also fun fact, you can take borax as a supplement

Loved this deep dive ... until watching this I was silently saying that lye soap was best ... today, I told my husband to go out and buy some shampoo from Walmart, because he needs to wash his hair every day due to the work he does ... I can go a week to a week and a half to cleanse my hair, so soap is just fine for me ... I learned a lot from this, so thank you!

Because they "don't give a shit!" 😂 Yep, tell it like it is!! Hallelujah! I hope the syndet shampoo cult followers open their minds on the subject. I'm currently using a syndet bar for some time now but I KNOW my cp shampoo is way better on my hair and scalp! Then if I say I'm doing that then they go banging on about how cp shampoo will enventually cause hair breakage if I keep using it! 😩 It's so tiring to listen to!! Thank you for this video!!
