Generally, FDA considers that bioassays are more reflective of the in vivo situation and are recommended. For NAb assays, the bioassay should be related to mechanism of action, otherwise the assays will not be informative enough as to the effect of NAbs on clinical results.

Injecting rats with the virus without the antibodies would be the control. They probably just didn't show or mention it because it would be terrible PR, and is cruel.

Johnathan Fiske its because he has been working on the virus for years idiot. There were more outbreaks before 2014 so of course to try and prevent anymore scientists all over the world work on drugs not only to kill ebola but learn valuable research from it to be used in other viruses.
