Cellular respiration is the process through which the cell generates energy, in the form of ATP, using food and oxygen. The is a multistep biochemical process where food, primarily the carbohydrate glucose, is broken down to produce energy.
There are three steps in cellular respiration:
Glycolysis
The Krebs cycle
Electron Transport Chain and Oxidative phosphorylation

So the carbon dioxide that we exhale comes after the Krebs cycle when the pyruvate turns into acetyl coa (CO2 is the biproduct), and the oxygen that we inhale is used at the last step in the Electron Transport Chain to remove the electron in step IV? If I understood that correctly, then I'm fascinated that the CO2 we exhale comes from the break down of glucose rather than the oxygen we inhale.

Would it serve us better to be able to look at a nutrition label and see a food provides 2397 ATP vs 200 calories? I realize calories is a unit of heat in physics. But in biology we use ATP. Doesnt it make sense to make a change here? Our bodies “burn” atp not calories. Great video!

Just take a look at 6:45. You're presented with the "Krebs Cycle" and are given 3 whole seconds to grasp what you're looking at while the "camera" makes it impossible for you, as it is zooming in on the NADH corner and blurring out the rest. I don't know what exactly is wrong with people appreciating this - except in case they already are acquainted with most of this and having learnt NOTHING thus flies over their own heads. A bunch of misleading animations making it harder to actually understand stuff due to oversimplification and bringing "noise" into the game. Unsubbed. You're mocking poeple trying to learn something with waving smilies that are cute if one is 5.
