The soil moisture sensor must be placed in the soil. However, what about the wires and electronic components within the sensor? How susceptible are they to water? While testing the sensor in a lab is feasible, its application in a farm setting presents challenges, particularly with water exposure. How is this typically addressed?

Can u please tell which wire did you use male to male, male to female or female to female?

Look closely at the video - this sensor has screw terminals so we used male to male wires. Some sensors might have male header pins so you can use female to male wires. It depends on what sensor you buy.

These sensors are available from electronics vendors like SparkFun Electronics and you can also find them on Amazon. Note that there are also capacitive soil moisture sensors, make sure you know which type you're buying!
