Always nice to know something new. I really hope that we are able to find an Earth-like planet out there. I really want to know is it possible to duplicate earth conditions far out in space.

Good to know there are people like you, who know what we could achieve if we all would work together.

you never heard of Glisel-D it is in the good zone to have liquid water and they were also talking about underneath of a moon from jupiter who might hide liquid water.

I heard the planet doesn't rotate, it only revolves, that means that one side of the planet is getting light non-stop, and the other side is getting NO light non-stop. So it might have life on it but probably not.

Yes you are right. I confused both, I mean Alpha Centauri. But even Alpha Centauri is too far to be reached in even 10 generations.

4.3 I believe. Good example of a trinary system.

Sorry, Andromeda is the nearest large galaxy, known as M31. Though at about 2.5 million light years away, it is rather far.

Say what you will but who says a planet has to be the same size as earth? It could be bigger or smaller, the universe does work in proportions, just a thought.

Even if we found a planet on Andromeda, the most near solar system, we could never get there, because we would need technique for traveling faster than light and this is impossible.

Why not just point down and say, "There it is! A planet that could support life!"

It would be awesome if these exist! This video really *was* fascinating...also because there will probably be aliens there to study

This is awesome, now to prove Drake's Equation, albeit that theory prehaps has underestimated the reality. We need to find clues to life.

We're searching for another planet similar to earth to support human life because we realize eventually humanity will destroy this beautiful marble we live on. Just an idea.

Why? It would mean that we can colonize other planets that will provide living conditions and resources, and whoever knows what else... Humanity could, in one point, in the future achieve "Type 3" civilization. And if conditions could be replicated somewhere else, it's not far-fetched the idea, that life could also appear and exist. If so, the vast Universe would be a bit less lonely place :)
