alright first of all what you said there made absolutely no sense but i'm not gonna waste anymore time on you. let's just say that the society need people like you. people like you can constantly give confidence boosts to others. you're an important piece of brick at the bottom. not that we really need one, but it's quite nice to have one.

Just because a planet is similar in size to Earth does not mean the planet is like Earth. YOU DON'T SAY!! Wow thanks NASA

Key details missed in this video: planets this close to their stars are one face (tidally locked, similar to the moon-->earth tidal lock) almost always. it has to do with the gravitational forces and the proximity of the bodies. Tidally locked planets have their atmospheres frozen on the backside. while the sunside might be 3200F, the backside is only 10 kelvin. all of the water could easily exist as a gigantic icecap on the "dark side" of the planet.

@fronabadger I don't know how we arrived on this subject. They aren't talking about alien life. They use the term alien to refer to something not of a specific country, planet, solar system, universe, or multiverse. In essence, it is anything foreign. I believe you have misunderstood.

Neat vid! This is an invitation to see an artist theory on the physics of light and time! This theory is based on two postulates 1. The first is that the quantum wave particle function Ψ represents the forward passage of time ∆E ∆t ≥ h/2π itself photon by photon. 2. The second is that Heisenberg’s Uncertainty Principle ∆×∆p×≥h/4π that is formed by the wave function is the same uncertainty we have with any future event.

It is interesting that Cancri e has supercritical fluids. The main reason why exobiologists speculate that water is necessary for life is because fluidity is necessary for unusual combinations of molecules which eventually lead to life. Since this planet is actually fluid and not solid, the potential for complex molecular structures on the planet's surface is much higher.

Don't hate them! That is a SEO tactics used to attract more views! This is a common web practice! If you were them, you would do the same... The most important thing in an article, video or picture is the title. It must "wow" you, to make you click through! And also, "alien" has different meanings, like: strange, out of our normal experience, something we're not used to.

Is a degree value used in the English metric system, which measures degrees differently from celcius. Is like inches instead of centimeters, lbs instead of Kg.

Good video! This is an invitation to see an artist theory on the physics of light and time! Based on just one equation (E= ˠ M˳C²) ∞ the Lorentz contraction of space and time is between the energy and mass. The greater the energy the greater the contraction of space and the slower time will run. Mass will increase relative to this and each ref-frame can be seen as a vortex in space formed by the rate that time flows. The brackets represent the boundary condition of the ref-frame within infinity

@jrbelmont It is kinda hard to search for something you know next to nothing about. All we know about in this regard is water reliant life. Until we find more information about other kinds of life, water is what we'll be searching for.

Water may be critical for most types of life, but the entities that live in crystals require minimal moisture, if any. Unlike the 'water -cooled' processors for sale, the crystal skulls were used to communicate over vast distances, psychically, without heating-up. As usual, the correct answer is wrapped up in some career oriented get rich scheme.

If you mean we could use Lagrange points as ports, that's true. They would probably be used as a place to dock scientific instruments like an interstellar version of the Hubble telescope Sounds like you like technological singularity theories? I do too. But it's good to balance respect for the incomprehensibility of exponential growth with understanding how far computers have to advance before matching the general power of human intelligence I think humans will be the ones who solve this problem

It must have a ceramic crust with an ocean of molten metal under that. I can't see how there could be any solid core at those temperatures. Could the core be an Amalgam like tooth fillings? . There would be out gassing. The surface gravity would be similar to earth's but the pressures in a metal ocean would be . . . very high. .. . Correct me.

Uhhh wow, dude. I think I've been misunderstood here. I was saying we know next to nothing about anything OTHER than carbon based life. And I never said anything about the probability of finding other carbon based life out there. For the record I agree with you on everything you said. I hold out the hope that we will find extra terrestrial life out there just like you do and even go a step further. Perhaps we'll even find non-carbon based life someday, we just don't know what it looks like yet.

I'm a big advocate of self-learning and motivation, but there are limits to what you can teach yourself effectively, hence why every modern nation has a school system. I agree a "degree" by itself doesn't make you wise or smart. If you ever associated with highly educated people vs people who didn't even graduate from high-school, there is a huge difference in thought-process usually. Of course there are always going to be outliers.

40 light years from earth?? i don't think we can ever explore other planets outside the solar system. Even the Voyager mission which was launched during the 70's has just left solar system for more than a couple of decades. Speaking of its distance from the sun i can say it of not more than a light day away.

Not sure if you are being serious, but it has taken nearly 40 years for Voyager 1 to reach the outer solar system and that isn't even 0.00001% the distance light can travel in a year. Even with a predictable evolution of powerful Ion engines, it is extremely unlikely that we will get anywhere fast. To reach Proxima Centauri we are looking at about a 20,000 year journey if a country did decide to spend trillions. And NPP isn't even a possibility in the next 200 years.

I think NASA is working on a version of the Interplanetary Transport Network for intergalactic space that uses Lagrange points between stars and what not. But it's all gong to stay on paper for a while since NASA's budget is a mere .5% of the GDP now. If we move it up to 1% we could get some test runs going. But right now we barely have enough money for mars, ISS and EM spectrum space telescopes. =/

interesting, and a cool but sad thing to know is that we are better equiped to go to mars right no than when we went to the moon. it's just that back than we had to compete with soviets but know we are in a middle ground. not needing to prove anything because we already have but not advanced enough that we can do it for our own purposes like exploration. i think that within 20 years when we have solved the larger problems people will want to look to the horizon for their calling.

So why not other species on other planets that can do the same or even breath in methane? "Science fiction has as great a role in opening one's mind to the imagination then science fact!"

As much I like Wikipedia, information on there isn't totally complete or always accurate. Not sure of your age. If you are really interested space travel, I would suggest majoring in astronomy or engineering of rockets in college. Both of them will include physics and give you a good understanding of space travel in reality and not theory. Self-learning is a useful tool, but getting a degree from a reputable college in an area of expertise is still the pinnacle of learning and understanding.

I believe in god and science. I have a sort of "customized belief" that includes god, science, and reincarnation. I have a question. How is our conscience made? I mean. right now all it seems like to me is that you put a bunch of molecules and atoms together in a certain way and it makes a human? So when we die do our atoms separate and go back into the cycle of nature? how do I know I won't end up being a blade of grass when my body fertilizes the ground? :o do we reincarnate this way?
