"There is nothing Scientific in space." This needs to be framed and a round of applause awarded to the gentleman who inspired these refreshing and invigorating words. Never have I heard more intellectual logic and honesty than the idea that sprang forth from this man's neurology.

I absolutely love these ScienceCasts. It blows my mind that we, as humans, still war with each other and millions still live in famine and oppression. We could feed the world easily and be truely investing in the advancement of our species and the exploration of space.

That calendar is an Aztec calendar, not a Mayan calendar. NASA ought to try to get that right.

Interesting video! This is an invitation to see an artist theory on the physics of light and time! This theory is based on two postulates 1. Is that the quantum wave particle function Ψ represents the forward passage of time ∆E ∆t ≥ h/2π itself 2. Is that Heisenberg’s Uncertainty Principle ∆×∆p×≥h/4π that is formed by the w- function is the same uncertainty we have with any future event that we can interact with turning the possible into the actual!

On youtube this week, I've seen a huge black sphere drain energy from the Sun, objects next to the Sun and a huge black roughly triangular patch on the Sun. Can you explain these?

Globally, it will be a cool one. And i suspect it will normal to below normal temps here in the States. Weakening La Nina which helped fuel the record temps last year due to blocking highs will not be as prominent this summer, There will still be heat waves just not to the degree that we saw last year. Just wait until when the solar cycle ends and the following cycle will be one of the quietest we have seen in our lifetime...we go in to a cooling phase, Little Ice Age strike a bell?

what is wrong with the narrator's voice, is he intentionally trying to rip off Hawking's cool staccato style delivery?

But think of how many people we would have to "change" for that to happen? We've been in this social cycle for... ever since I can remember. We have school, work, church, "important" things, things to distract humans from the everlasting space of the universe. There are too many people satisfied and "content" with their OWN lives that feel they don't need to go out of their way to help others because their immediate perception is the television and a bag of Cheetos. Sorry about the ranting. ha
