The reason behind this is because gold is a soft and maleable element. On a warm day a solid gold belt will easily bend by gripping it firmly. And that's just not ethical for boxers who have extremely stable and strong hands now is it?

Our company has been producing championship belts for many years. Sorry to say, what you have shown is quite an old method. We use machines from Etchcut that do 70% of the work inside the machine. Only gold plating and an additional belt on the backside need to be done manually.
