Marie Antoinette is not anymore believed to have said, "Let them eat cake." That's an old historical misnomer based off of an empty assumption that earlier historians had made about a letter that was written by a merchant who had referred to someone "of noble birth" saying that. Anyway, that one's been debunked. No one actually knows who it was who said that, but it's not likely to have been Marie Antoinette. She would still have been a child at the time, and was blessedly unaware of what was going on outside her new home (after having been married at the age of 15 to the King of France, a much older man, King Louis XVI).
@kaiajackson85385 ай бұрын
A lot of people know she didn't actually say that, it's just associated with her because people once thought she said it. Also king Louis was a child as well when he married her, get your facts straight. not every marriage back then was with a "much older man", in fact I think he was only like 2 years older than her. A quick Google search would have shown that🙄. Your just spreading misinformation.
@MickyFarm4 ай бұрын
If Marie Antoinette didn't say 'Let them eat cake,' then who really did?
@marsbar9995 күн бұрын
@@MickyFarm probably nobody I think, the people just really, REALLY hated her at the time and honestly would've done anything to talk shit about her. I mean, just look at all the rumors about her that still persist to this day. They said all sorts of horrible things about her and mocked her for *everything* she did. It wouldn't surprise me if folks literally just made that up to make her sound ignorant, or misconstrued something she *really* said very poorly. Sort of purposefully misunderstanding her words, I suppose. There's a lot of really interesting videos about Marie, especially later in her life regarding her children. I honestly suggest you watch at least one because it's genuinely fascinating just how much they hated this girl, *wild* stuff.

I once worked in a restaurant that got similar frozen cookie pucks. We would smash 2 together to get large sized cookies. We also got buckets of muffin dough. We would just scoop out the dough with an icecream scoop. "Fresh baked" cookies and muffins... They came frozen, we would bake them, refreeze the products and finally thaw them as they sold. For all that the cookies and muffins were delicious... Even if "fresh"
