These uploads are very important to me personally. Through my college years, I studied theoretical physics vigorously, eventually taking a graduate level string theory class, but ultimately, I failed to grasp the ideas, to visualize the bigger picture. I got my degree, but I was severely disheartened. Even by graduation, I didn’t know exactly what I had learned. Now, as these videos are released, I’m slowly reconciling my academic efforts, and my past is put more at ease with each one.

I didn’t end up pursuing physics as a career, but I can tell you what I’ve heard from the professionals I’ve talked to. The two branches are experimental and theoretical. For both, a PhD is a barrier to entry, and you’ll end up working at a university to fund your research. As for experimental research, you’ll encounter many edges of the unknown in graduate school, which you can pursue as a career. High energy and condensed matter physics is popular right now, but different areas of study become relevant as technology innovates. I absolutely give my blessing to anyone who loves physics. Go change the world.

Is this the best careers at physics or the theoretical physics is better? I am sorry if I am disturbing you but I love physics so much that maybe I would take it as a career asking people who studied or working as a physicist will push me more to take it.

Damn, I knew these videos were good, but it's crazy they're _that_ good. Good visualizations are very important to my understanding of a topic, as are good analogies and I know I wasn't getting much of that when I tried college. I eventually dropped out and frankly have not regretted it. I feel like your instruction may have been lacking in those areas as well. Good on you for getting through it but I can't imagine how you did it.

Both are great for sure, but in my opinion, what makes Science clic the best science channel is that you *see what you hear*, in a very easy, fundamental and logical way that makes you understand things so easily. PBS are great for sure, but they stick to narration and lack visualization, which makes the video a little bit boring. It reminds me of my days in university, when the prof. stands and explain for a long time. Science clic and PBS, appreciations for both of you, keep up the good work 👍🏻❤️

It turns out that initially the theory of supergravity did not use strings (it was not quantum at all), and merged with string theory already in 1995? So, in order for all constants to be determined only from symmetries, it is necessary to use supersymmetry in 11-dimensional space. And what is the maximum number of multiple supersymmetries? Or is it just 11? Then, "single" supersymmetry corresponds to an increase in the number of dimensions? Probably, each extra supersymmetry incresethe number of dimentions on 3 extra spatial dim. (ordinary 3d space vs supersymmetric 3d space)?

I am very passionate about the Universe, but as an engineer it is hard for me to grasp fully the mathematics that governs it. My models of thinking are not quite in tune with this kind of mathematical abstraction, but even with that I enjoy myself watching videos about the theoretical physics. if you can use a rotation matrix (engineers do rotate), you can do rotation with quaternions (standard in aerospace engineering). Well: quaternions anticommute and can represent spinor algebras and all that.

@@DrDeuteron well quaternions are better than Euler rotations as well, but what I mean, for example the measured values in scientific papers, that is beyond my reach, because this basis is hard to grasp, the intuition needed is hard to reach at first

Translation -> Conservation of momentum Rotation -> Conservation of angular momentum Time -> Conservation of energy Gauge/Frame of reference symmetry -> Conservation of electric charge What are the name of the missing ones? I'm not sure they were mentioned in the video about the symmetries of the universe. I know the last one to be about quarks, but I have no clue about the one indicated by the arrows pointing sideways and the one with the moving electron and the other particle. These video's are amazing. I love love love the small detail of, for example at 8:12, putting the grid of the universe at an angle, just to show a different perspective. It reminds me of how in music education, a lot of lessons are given in the key of C, just because it's easier to explain. This would be same as a physics educator like yourself putting the grid of the universe straight up, just because it's "easier". As a result, the perspective of "orientation doesn't matter in space" is never quite grasped and in music, people play better in the key of C than in other keys, just because that's how they were taught music, completely missing out on the beauty of other keys. I wish there would only one textbook about this stuff explaining the big picture as lucid as you do and filling in the details of calculation afterwards, instead of starting with all kind of calculations and then forget to tell about what it all means.
