For someone who got a 9 at gcse and predicted an A* in physics a level, I wholeheartedly say this is the best video for understanding electricity. He makes it so simple to understand and the same principles can be used in further topics like capacitors etc. Great video!

@@penguinysquad if you’ve not been told this by now, Physics and maths tutor past paper questions, do as many as possible. Look through examiner reports on ur exam board website to see where people commonly go wrong. I used Seneca learning a lot to learn the content, but make sure you are comfortable with all calculations and equations and you’ll smash it!

3:24 here since you know there are 2 resistors in parallel you could just work out the resistance by working out the total resistance from V/I then use the parallel circuit resistance formula to get 60

The first question was pretty easy. I solved it like this Here 6 V is the voltage of whole circuit and as it is in series I used the V = V1 + V2 formula Here, V2 is unknown and total V is here in question Hence, 6 = 2 + x 6-2 = 4V

i took A level electronics after hating this topic at gcse phy, its now my favorite subject and im looking at it for a career. electronics is nice a simple (ish, it gets much harder) once you get to grips with it and especially the basics. i also take A level phy and this makes it really nice to have the understanding if this topic in a much higher level than you need for physics. great video too btw

@@shaheeralam1095 I'm doing my gcse's right now but I have a general tip , make summary sheets on each topic and it needs to be 2 pages max! then revise the sheet for 15 ish minutes and then just practice exam q's , take a good break and then just carry on w the rest of the topics. Electricity - filament lamp. If one uses a dc supply, why does the filament lamp graph show negative values - surely it should just start from the origin? The same applies to the other graphs, why are there negative values if you use dc current?

For the seccond question with the two resistors in parallel, why didn't you add the resistances by 1 Over (1/R) when calculating current?

You only use the 1/R thing when finding a sum of the resistors that are in parallel, in this case though, he is finding a singular resistor by using the voltage across it and the current laws. You don’t need to use the 1/R law when doikg calculations across a component
