Beautifully done video. U have explained it very well. At the beginning when I first learnt about projectile motion I was so confused about the horizontal and vertical components. I also hated the way the textbook spouted random formulas without derivation. Ever since mastering the horizontal and vertical planes of motions projectile motion becomes infinitely easier. I would recommend doing M1 in maths to anyone studying physics, they link nicely and it really helps

Nice explanation! Cambridge A level Math is cool because you are suggested to use approximation g=10 and you can literally do practice calculations in your head very quickly even when walking around outside. Stuff like x=(1/2)gt^2 becomes x=5t^2 or rearranging to t= root (x/5) so like a 50m drop will be just root 10 giving a bit more than 3 seconds and v=gt=10t is easily just a bit over 30 m/s, about 3 times as fast as usain bolt. However beware..In edexcel physics gotta remember to use g=9.81... i think they should let us use 10 unless we really need accuracy for some reason. It is a pity that g isnt actually a bit closer to 10. lol...Maybe at the north pole?

@@AbdulRahman-vy7ko why are you crying? OP is smart, so he will one day engineer a toaster that cooks bread 12% faster than any toaster and is affordable You will buy that toaster, saving you approximately 6 seconds, and then leave the kitchen, which will then explode 6 seconds later If not for the toaster, you would instantly die. But because of OP, your life has been saved. Classic butterfly effect.

Hey sir, surely for the vertical direction, we can say that the displacement of the cliff could be -50, and the acceleration (due to g) is -9.81 as it is acting downwards instead of +9.81 and +50, thus as there is 2 minus's the answer would stil be positive. Thanks!

To get rid of the 1/2 from the right hand side, you double the whole thing.

@@ScienceShorts do we have to multiply by 2 every time we use 1/2 equation..?
@anitanaseer1007 Жыл бұрын
@@sarasaleem2145 it depends on what you’re finding. If you’re finding something on the same side of the equal sign as the 1/2 (say, for example, time), you want to make it the subject of the formula, so you take everything else to the other side of the equal sign. When doing that, you’ll end up dividing both sides by 1/2, which is the same as multiplying both sides by 2
