I wore out the tape of this video in the mid 1980's. It just proves that the basics of the sport hold up over the test of time.

I worked in a fly tackle shop beginning in 1988 and we had this video for rent. I think it was a fairy new video at the time.

Pre stimulator video! I used to have a pair of Borger wading boots. They worked great. So much fabulous information in this video.

Yeah and those god-awful plastic fly boxes too. I still have the 10 that I bought from that time. The system 2 fly reels on the other hand were quite good. I still have two of them.

I have this on VHS. And it's a good one. But I would add one thing: Put on a Renegade or Soft Hackle and catch fish all day.

@@ScientificAnglers Looks like probably 1983 judging by the copyright notice at the beginning of the film. Of course they had to use Roman numerals for the date! Thanks for posting this BTW.

The large Henry's Fork rainbow in the film was caught Saturday, June 26, 1983. I know because I was fishing on the other side of the river that day and saw the film crew. A letter from Gary later confirmed the date. Despite the bright sky the Green Drakes poured off that day. Turned into my best day ever back when the Henry's Fork was something really special.
