Im really curious, what the tensile strength of his tendons is. Doing some simple math, the main tendon in the knee was pulling over 1 ton in the last test (assuming a 1:10ish ratio between where the tendon is pulling the lower leg and where the sensor was attached to) And I think one of the biggest factors of how strong someone can get is the intake of energy to supply all those muscles and keep em trained. Everybody knows that, laying in the bed for a week or more and you loose a sh**load of muscle-mass. And we also know, Eddi is already eating 20 megacalories a day! He spends hours on end every days just to get all those calories in a constant rate in so that his bowel can digest it.

Would be interesting to see the tendons on an elite level armwrestler, where the strenght is highly specialized. They generate very high stress and load in a very unnatural direction, many whom condition cartilage/bone and tendons to the point where they lose the natural mobility of joints, especially around the elbow. Anyway good stuff, nice video.

Like the Dr. said in the video, the tendon size is not proportional to muscle size; that's why I wrote my comment. It would be interesting to see if the tendon size is much bigger for an athlete like an arm wrestler because of long-term accumulated tendon damage. In such a case, muscle strength would not be the main focus. But hey, you don't have to watch such a video if they would make one, my internet friend. Watch what is fun for you .

I was scared for him when he broke the world record. He was far too big, and that was terrible on his heart. I hope he lives to 100. He seems like such a great person. Watching Eddie and Brian Shaw together is always a good time. Those two become teenagers every time they're together. For anyone thats confused 750 kilos is actually how much force he’s generating to lift that weight. It doesnt mean he can deadlift that , still though that insanely impressive bc i believe his max is around 1,100? . Its like lets say someone generates a force around 600 lbs but only deadlifts like 500 . The goal is to learn how to increase the amount of force in these muscles fibers to lift heavier weight off the ground . Idk my thoughts from watching this video i like it though 👍💯

For a doctor on the field of Strength I'm amaze that he didn't know about Alexander Zass! He was a Russian Strongman from around 100 years ago and he ironically live the end of his life and die on the UK, so is most surprising to me that a British Doctor on this field wouldn't know of him. He created the Isometric training, he was even able to break from prison, twice thanks to his tendons being strong as steel. He believe strength actually came from the tendons, and not necessary the muscles, according with him muscle have a minor impact compare with tendons. Is sad that in the current year nobody try his methods of training. I wonder how a Strongman that reach the human limit of Isometric Training can do in terms of strength. Tendon Strength is a real thing, that's why you see people like Eddie or even Brian having problems doing old feats of strength while smaller guys can do naturally. It also explain why some small people despite being crony looking can have as much strength as a buff guy.

I love this. This is what we need, testing of the outliers. A lot of ranges given in labs etc are from taking the average of a certain number, but if your population is quite unwell (I'd propose they were with autoimmune disorders, obesity etc being prevalent among the population) the 'normal' range is of that of an unwell population. More research needs to be focused on those who are well and in good condition as well as testing the 'extraordinary' people (be it either side of the bell curve).
