Genesis 8:2-3 (ESV) [2] The fountains of the deep and the windows of the heavens were closed, the rain from the heavens was restrained, [3] and the waters receded from the earth continually. It is because the water is not in a liquid state, but chemically bound to a solid mineral, and because of the unimaginable heat and pressure at a depth of 700 km, behaves very differently than surface water or groundwater. Both P waves and S waves will see it as a semi-solid.

I think the water from the flood is mostly still here on the surface. if the Earth was smoothed out, it would be covered by an ocean 1.7 miles deep. The tallest mountains today weren’t here before the flood. The video said that the “water” is bound up in minerals at the bottom of the lower mantle, which is 400 to 500 miles down. If it were possible to dig down that depth, it would explode in steam. I’m pretty sure.

Due the extent more than 2000 km of the mantle below earth crust, the hydrated salts carry more H2O than twice the volume of all the oceans combined. Not liquid but crystals of water of hydration.

I figured it out. When under pressure the boiling point of water rises. So it could be 1000 degrees and remain in liquid form if the pressure is high enough.
