This story reminds me of the torment of Hell that is mentioned in the Holy Bible. Fear not evil. Actually there ARE ships marooned in the middle of the desert. The dried up lake bed that used to be the Aral sea. Also the Skeleton Coast of Namibia where the coastline is now miles from the sea. l read that a 16th century Portuguese galleon carrying gold bullion was discovered half buried in the sand dunes in Namibia. Nobody alive on them though!

This was an interesting science fiction story. It can't really be anything else, because there are no details.What was the name of the ship, and where was it found? Somebody came up with an interesting story with no way to verify anything.
