The observation in this video is of a different species of snailfish within the same genus as the Mariana snailfish that you shared. Also, this video was recorded at a slightly deeper depth than the video you shared, hence why it's "broken the record for the deepest observation of a fish in the ocean." This type of fish was already known-this is just the deepest they've been recorded.

A never before seen sailfish variety, living a depth of Mt Everest below the surface. I think it's beautiful, as I can see beauty in everything and everyone. However this judgemental, racist, specist 'scientist" is no better than this reporter at calling it "hideous" like it's a freak of nature. His credentials should be stripped.
