I escaped a cult with my Mom when I was 12. We had to break a window and climb out of a padlocked camper in the middle of the night and with one garbage bag of clothes and belongings and walk to a gas station 5 miles away where she called my father who came and got us. It was such a horrible existence. Things 24 yrs. later I still can barley talk about and one thing in particular that I still cry about sometimes. The beatings and the rigid horrible rules and the ritualistic insanity and cruelty, punishments, indoctrination, and fear are something that people who have not survived a cult just can’t understand. It’s beyond the comprehension of a person with an average lived existence to even grasp. I cannot tell you how much the FEAR keeps people prisoner but then the fear is ultimately what makes people leave. And I’m telling you, SCIENTOLOGY IS A CULT💯. Abusive, punishing, shackling, brainwashing, coercion, dogmatic persecution, no individual decision making, no say in your own life, no way of leaving only escaping, and then not without losing everyone you love and leaving everything behind. AFRAID EVERY SECOND OF YOUR LIFE THAT YOU WILL DO SOMETHING WRONG THAT RESULTS IN PUNISHMENTS BY THE PEOPLE WATCHING YOU. ALWAYS WATCHING YOU. And even if you did nothing wrong, still getting physically punished and used and abused. That, as I know from experience, IS A CULT. The government needs to step in and burn the cult of Scientology to the ground.

Let me say this...I once worked for a man who was a practicing Scientologist. He was weird. And I have nothing against weird people. We're all weird in some way. But this fellow brought "weird" up to a whole new level I had never seen before. One day his wife, a very lovely intelligent woman, came up to me and told me that when they first married he was the most loving and dedicated husband on the planet. Then he found Scientology. She told me the change was incredible. Gone was the man she married. In his place was someone she did not recognize. Had never met before. She told me that even though they share the same house, the same bedroom, it is like she is living alone. She was on the brink of tears because she had lost her husband. And the worst part was she did not know how to get him back. That was one of the saddest conversations I have ever had with another human.

Oh and let’s not forget not only do you need to work for filling you need to pretty much give them your entire paycheck… Similar to those people that had a picture of their child on the fridge thinking That for the cost of a cup of coffee a day, they are giving some child the opportunity to keep living. Can't see how he couldn't. It's pretty obvious from certain photos that have come to light that he's at the very least bi, and homosexuality is a huge no-no in Scientology (Hubbard's son was gay and if you look into what happened with him, it's an incredibly sad story), yet he gives them so much money he can get away with a lot. He also gets a bunch of work done by the Sea Org. So does Tom Cruise. I can't imagine being as close to Miscavige as they both are and not knowing what's going on. Just makes me think of how brave Leah Remini is, and how brave all the others are who speak out against Scientology. It takes major guts to do what they do.

@@coralaisly Travolta KNOWS his ex PR and friend told him what she was GOING THROUGH while she was pregnant and on their 'prison detail' RPF and he told her not to LET them treat her like that and when she found her baby in the nursery had been badly neglected she left and HE STAYED IN!!! Tom Cruise the P.O.S (Piece Of Shit) got his cars, bikes, plane hangers, houses and apartments all decked out by SLAVE LABOUR from young Sea Org's and didn't even give them a thank you let alone any payment!!! Travolta has let David MISCARRIAGE use his private jet to SNATCH and SCARE and SCAM back people who have left or in the CULT's terminology 'Blown' so even though he may seem the more 'sane' compared to #TomWackoCruise he's still a BIG problem where targeted innocent victims are concerned!!! I'm also relieved to hear Astra's father has stood by her, I have an awesome Dad who has ALWAYS been there for me so it's good to hear there are still some Dad's out there that live up to the name. I also hope that Astra's realises that a mother who makes you feel guilty about NOT aborting your child - her GRANDCHILD FFS!!! - is not really a truly caring mother and obviously DOESN'T care about her own daughter's feelings or welfare and Astra and Kate DESERVE a REAL mother and Grandmother and the mother Astra has DOESN'T deserve her or any granddaughter!!! Hearing about what Astra's mother said to her and about her makes me nauseated and irate!!🤮🤮🤮🤬🤬🤬 As for Kate and what to tell her about her father....the TRUTH because if she finds out she's been lied to it will cause damage between mother and daughter and even though the truth hurts for a while it will make Kate not only stronger but thankful for the REAL FAMILY she has and not fall for any BS later in life - if it arises! The #ExScientologyKidsFoundation is a great idea and keeping finger's crossed that this will help UNdo alot of this CULT's extremely damaging indoctrination and give people the support they need to start over!🤞🤞🤞🤞

Kudos to the father, Astra, and Zoey; I’ve watched videos of the dad telling his family’s story - from his marriage to his wife and their activities in Scientology, having 3 kids and leaving Scientology, then his wife going back in and eventually dragging the family in. He got out, helped Astra and Kate get out, then they helped Zoey leave. It’s sad that the mother, son/brother, and grandmother will likely never leave the CoS and never see them again. But that’s how the CoS does: stresses loyalty to Scientology and families are routinely broken up over this. So good for those who’ve left and I Woodall of you all well!

Tom Cruise has been deceived just like the rest of them. And keep this in mind....People like Astra, Leah Remini, and Mike Rinder were all once just as furtive believers in Scientology as Tom Cruise is. Hopefully Tom Cruise will one day realize the truth. But you have to imagine how difficult it would be, especially for someone like Tom Cruise. Look at what he's been taught to believe, that Scientology would one day give him this massive supernatural power over his life and the route it takes. If there is anyone who would believe that these supernatural powers are actually possible, it would be Tom Cruise. He's mega rich. Millions of fans adore him. He is one of the biggest movie stars on the planet. Almost everything he does turns to gold. You wanna talk about having your beliefs seemingly validated. Now imagine that if Tom was to believe these nasty "rumors" about Scientology and possibly leave his "religion", he might very well lose all the good things in his life as a result. Tom has a lot of incentive for continuing to believe the way he does. (Btw, I'm simply speaking from Tom's perspective. I personally don't believe any of the bullshit Scientology spews out. Scientology is a business, and a corrupt one at that. Nothing more.)

Has anyone else here in this discussion ever been to a Scientology "meeting" to meet the members, in hopes that you can be recruited? Tell your story. I was invited to a New Years Eve event in Kitchener, Ontario one year. By the time my friend (a hard core Scientologist and weirdo after she joined), and I left, I was in a state of -- well, I can't really describe it -- I was numb, literally stunned, overwhelmed and distressed. I felt it not only emotionally, psychologically, but physically too. I'd even go so far as to say I felt slightly hypnotized. At one point, I thought I was going to be sick to my stomach. It was deeply disturbing to see. Through it all of course, being who I am, (made of strong stuff,) I was able to remain detached and watch the followers objectively and watch their behaviors from a distance, so to speak. I was able to keep my brain walled off from the brainwashing their movie was intended to achieve. The film I refer to was a kind of celebratory-promotional-reinforcing kind of thing. The imagery was wild and fast, the volume was intolerably loud, and the propaganda against the world at large was hostile, paranoid, and psychopathic. It truly was just like a science fiction movie or a dystopian, Armageddon type of world view. I was uncomfortable beyond words watching this unfold. The members' gazes were fixed on the screen, while now and then loudly applauding and whooping to some remark made about "the ORGS" and the evil-doings of pharmaceutical companies, politicians, law-makers, medicine, and I think even education took a hit. Their enthusiasm was fanatical and manic. It took about a week to get the experience off my mind, it was that troubling to me. Luckily for me, I'm a born skeptic and I am not easily swayed by anyone else's thinking, so I didn't fall victim to it. My ego doesn't need it. My needs for "something" to follow are low, since I don't buy into any kind of religion, not for any reason. I'm satisfied with myself and my own pursuits in this life. For LOTS of reasons I reject religion of any kind since I believe that human beings can have a "relationship" with or rather, "regard" for the greatness of life without the need of an intermediary to "get you there". Where would that be, anyway? I simply believe that we can achieve wisdom, learning and goodness by living with good morals and ethics. And we can learn those things on our own. No magic, no potions, no "blessings", no rituals, no congregations. I'm not seeking some magical transformation, imagining myself and the world imbued with stardust and angel breath. Just the here and the now. Imagine no religion. Once upon a time there was none, and early humans figured it out. We can too.

The same way Christians believe The Bible. It's really no different.
@erickaleeane33849 жыл бұрын
***** I guess if I am an Atheist troll then you are a Christian troll, right? How is it different? Christianity is based on a book, just like Scientology. The only difference is that Scientologist's actually know who wrote their book. As far as your examples of Atheist rulers who did bad things goes.. Their motivations were not religious, they were political. It wouldn't matter, though, because for your 2 examples of Atheistic wrong-doing, there are a million that could be brought up regarding things done in the name of religion. You have been brain-washed into thinking that Atheism is a bad thing. I know because I was once like you. If you would read your Bible you would see it for what it is; a monstrosity. Your example of North Korea is a poor one being as though they have little to no crime rate, and though I do not agree with their dictatorship (nor do any other Atheists that I know), they do live peacefully. It's not like their leader is murdering people every day. It sounds like you are generalizing all Atheists into an evil categorey. I know that's not your fault, by the way. If you would take the time to get to know some of us you would see that we are not evil, not do we want to take over the world. We are also not a 'cult' because Atheism is not a religion. Believe it or not, Atheists are more giving than most Christians. Anyway, as I said before, believing in Scientology is no different than believing in the Bible. It's just not.
@erickaleeane33849 жыл бұрын
***** I have to disagree with you. Those doing bad things in the name of religion are not breaking commandments. They are following the laws of their 'book', like any real Christian would do. Stoning women to death in the middle east for ridiculous reasons is, in fact, in that horrible book they worship, as it is, to some extent, in yours. I do not admire Kim Jong Un I simply stated that the crime rate over there is pretty low, while here we have people bombing abortion clinics and murdering doctors, in the name of religion. Atheists don't believe that the universe 'just happened'. There is EVIDENCE supporting the Big Bang. Scientists don't know how it happened, yet, but that is no reason to fill the void with an imaginary friend. Do some research for yourself. Weigh the evidence. Ask yourself, is it more likely that the EVIDENCE is right or that this book that was written thousands of years ago, by who knows, is? Anyone that believes a magical man made the universe is delusional. There are tons of stories that pre-date the Bible with nearly identical stories, why doesn't anyone believe that those books are true? Because they're not, that's why. There are some pretty horrible religious people in this world, but am I judging you for what they have done? No. It's funny that you are the so-called Christian, yet you judge me based on your knowledge of people who died years ago. You, sir, have proved MY point.
@Twinkie9897 жыл бұрын
+KaptKan1 Athiests aren't a unified group, so you can't really lump any atheist together based on lack of religion. I have nothing in common with Stalin- whereas if you are sitting in the same church with another person, hearing the same lectures, and internalizing the same values.

They hold lots of events that the town population can join in with and attend, but jts all very careful diplomacy. I see my children's schoolfriends who are from Scientology families gradually disappear from the local schools into Sea Org, and generally they are pretty weird kids.
