I totally agree with you both! I’m a female (and a mom of a soldier and a police officer ) I believe in women’s rights but I know and understand that a female is not made the same as a male...physically or mentally. Do I trust that a female could carry my 215lbs son out of a combat zone??? Hell NO! I have nothing against women in the military at all but my focus and my main concern is that my sons comes home safely ! Period!

I agree to a point but I also think it is more nuanced. In the big picture, if tier 1 units are drawn from the top 5% of a physical capability set that should not change for diversity's sake, not one iota. IF a woman can meet that standers on her own steam and in a physical confrontation kick the ass of a man who is also in that top 5% then fine fair play. Now, I doubt there are any or such a small percentage as to be negligible and so be it, standards should not be lowered. On the other hand, there should be a female special operations team. Israel is showing that there are missions female special operations units and operators can accomplish that male operatives cannot. There are now female units in the Sayeret Matkal that are lethal with their ability to blend in and infiltrate. That does not mean BUDS should be changed so females can pass. It means there should be units that can take advantage that females have in some situations. And, there are combat operations that history has shown women are quite capable of fully matching men. For example, Russia's female snipers were among the most effective of WWII so that is a combat job they well suited for. Point being the conversation seems to wrap itself around what women cannot do compared to men and ignores what woman can do better compared to men.

100% agree. One of my biggest disappointments in myself was whenever I washed out of basic training in the army. Genetically my bones we're not made for it. My hip bones broke from within. I felt humiliated and out of that embarrassment acted an ass. By far I feel more shame for my behaviour and how I handled that situation than anything else in my life. However, was told that I could come back after my body healed. It was going to take a minimum of a year of physical therapy/surgeries to get back to normal. I felt coming back would have been self-serving and foolish. I blew out company records for PT tests, group and zeroing my weapon, navigation, and simply stood out as the top 2 in our company. Regardless my body couldn't maintain. It would have been selfish for me to put myself on a team where I knew I would be physically the weakest link. The weakest link is always the liability of everyone around them. If lowering the standard need to be implemented in order for one to be able to succeed, you are not meant to be there. Enforcing change that will harm everyone around you just so that you can say that you did it has no honor in it. And every facet of the conversation it is deeply selfish.

Before I start my comment let me say I am a senior in high school and don’t know much about this topic. I have a question. I know you guys already mentioned the the Israeli women’s unit isn’t on the same level as the U.S.A in terms of military if I heard correctly. But what do you think about having two separate “teams” for the special forces? What I mean by teams is first keeping the same standards but just separate male and females (if more women join to create a team) where they work hand in hand? I’m also NOT trying to start a debate I just want a civil conversation where we can respect and hear everyone opinion. And I also don’t know if any of this makes sense and I’m sorry if it doesn’t
@thegreenberetlife9949
@thegreenberetlife9949 3 жыл бұрын
Hey Jade, women do have a place in special operations and have been very successful in "engagement teams" for years. The Israelis do not have women in their elite combat based special operations teams but do have some women in combat arms units as well as non combat arms SOF units. We are not against women in the military in any way. Our issue is reducing standards in order to get them into units where that the vast majority of men cant physically get into. This does not strengthen the military, it weakens it (which is the ultimate goal of the people pushing these programs). A huge part of any special operation unit is INTEL collection and by far the most valuable INTEL is HUMINT. Missions are built off of INTEL and because of the gender sensitivities in the Muslim world, women are far more effective in collecting this information from other women. This is an area where these female special operations engagement teams shine.

@@thegreenberetlife9949 First of all, thank you for your service to the green berets affiliated with this channel. Now that the Hamas has attacked civilians and Israel has responded, I wish the best for soldiers currently serving. Even to uninformed observers like me, it appears that special forces may get involved with Israeli operations if they haven't done so already. I worked with a Veteran of the green berets in Denver back in 2000. He was a VP at a startup and excellent in task management with software engineers, marketers, system admins, etc. I had the impression the extreme efficiency and attention-to-detail were rooted in his green beret training. He also worked well with people from all walks of life and had excellent communication skills. Now, I did sense some PTSD from his service in the MIddle East back in the 80s. It was very infrequent. He was usually talkative but I noticed that one day the coworkers were discussing the Middle East, Iraq, etc. and he got unusually quite with an expression of trauma and inner sadness. I remember back in 1983 a lot of US Marines were killed in a terror attack at Beruit. I wish the best for our special forces, support units, communication coordinators, transport, etc. who are likely going to be involved. From this response above, it looks like the green berets are very familiar with the organization of the Israeli Army. From the President's address, it looks like operations are underway. I defer to experienced Veterans on those details of involvement. Admittedly, a lot of it is likely classified. A friend of mine in the US Marines died in the Persian Gulf War back in 1991. We are Apache Indians from AZ, and he was a modern Apache scout in a LAV as a gunner for the USMC trained at Camp Pendleton. I hope we don't have any casualties. Again, thank you for your service.

I've been considering coming back in as an officer after I get my degree (which is probably tainted in itself lol) to give it one more go for SFAS but after hearing this, this worries me. When I was getting out in 2016 I was hearing through the grapevine from my buddy attached to 1st Group, that Group was going down the drain. It's a shame to hear that it's coming to this. Not sure if I even want to pursue it anymore if Group is going to start acting like Big Army. Has there been any word that its going to change back to its original state ? Growing up with a Navy SEAL it seemed like this was the environment that everyone wanted to be in and now the whole community is trashed it seems. Also, is there a way to request to stay on a Team for more then 24 months ? It'd be nice to be able to get ample experience to where I could try and help the enlisted dudes get to where they need to be to make real change. Or at least influence policy to change in favor of the NCOs who actually know what is going on so they can restore the heritage of the Green Beret.

From what I am hearing from some current operators who know cadre or guys who went through the course with her, the female that passed the Q course, who was the second to pass SFAS, apparently did better or equal to most the guys in SFAS or the Q. Is this because standards have been lowered significantly at the Q? That literally seems like the most logical or scientific explanation, but what do you guys think?
@thegreenberetlife9949
@thegreenberetlife9949 4 жыл бұрын
Sorry, but you got different information than we did... She quit the first week and was allowed back through. During the STAR, she didn't get all her points and was a "roadkill" twice (once is an honor violation that would get you a no return). She was peered by her team during team week and was initially a 21 day non select (command quickly reversed this). Through the rest of the Q course, the road was paved so that she didn't have to meet any traditional standards. Where did you get your info from? Did you read the "night letter" which documented much of this or follow the fallout from it? You are citing media and the old command's talking points.
@skisbej
@skisbej 4 жыл бұрын
@@thegreenberetlife9949 I read the night letter. I believe all of it. The author would not have gone into extreme detail if he was lying. He even pointed out candidates by names specifically in that letter. I posted this video on a Special Forces/Green Beret forum to see the general reaction. www.reddit.com/r/specialforces/comments/htg40h/green_berets_talk_about_females_in_special_forces/ I got my info from some of the response to this reddit post. There were a few current SF soldiers, as well as people that went through in the same class as the new female GB that were making the claims that she did overwhelmingly well. According to them, she was the second woman to pass SFAS, while (again according to them) the one described in this video was the first woman to pass SFAS. Apparently that woman is still stuck in the Q course. I agree with you guys. A woman making it through the Q course makes no logical sense (unless standards were significantly lowered), especially if she flew through it. I hope you guys check out the responses to that post to give me some clarification as to why some current Green Berets or the former candidates that went through in her class are disagreeing. One of the Green Berets posting on favor of her say that he even knows some of the cadre at SWC.

I don't believe that the female special forces soldier, didn't take a slot over a better qualified male, which is another issue I don't see others talking about. I remember meeting a man who wrote the qualification tests for fire fighters (this was in a major city, so it wasn't a volunteer position). He admitted to me, that they were ordered to adjust /lower the standards/test qualification requirements quite a bit so females could pass. he didn't seem to have an issue with it, but then again, he didn't live in that city (where we live it is all volunteer firefighters and there are no high rise buildings requiring a fire fighter to quickly carry heavy equipment/people up and down stairs under extreme conditions). Again, I wonder how many males were denied an opportunity, because they ordered a certain number of fire fighter slots be given to women.

Appreciate the content, and as far as never letting the standard lessen because of social awareness or being “woke” for special operations is definitely understandable. War fighting is just that and if you can meet the standard then so be it but if you can’t then you shouldn’t be there period point blank. But then you start losing people is when you try to disregard the importance of Juneteenth, Christopher Columbus statues defending and other special days that definitely deserve to be respected and celebrated even if you specifically do not belong to said minority groups that are effected by it. The reason why the right is losing pivotal ground on things that really matter 2A, American Culture in general is because there is a lot of bigotry that is being hidden underneath a veil of patriotism. There are places that the wrong side of history should be remembered and that is in Museums, but you wouldn’t expect Jewish children to have to go to a state capital and see a nazi flag underneath the German flag and when question It hear “we aren’t racist it’s just history and we are proud of our history” or for people to have to walk past statues of SS officers. It’s asinine to even fathom that thought so why is the equivalent accepted so easily here in the states? Understand how that may effect certain minority groups here with certain flags and statues. If we have the balls to fight for what is right in other countries we should have no problem doing it here. The right is losing important ground because of lack of allies in different minority communities and the numbers are dwindling nation wide because of lack of understand and important sensitivity on important issues, because of that we will lose out on important freedoms that the extreme left will want to take away because they have already galvanized on their side. To do better we have to be better. Thank you for serving and appreciate both of your sacrifices for freedom.

@@alison2161 All of the rhetoric and controversy over this feminism issue is part of a much deeper problem. But, it is the result of the constant bombardment and culture indoctrination saturating our society from the SJW Leftist and radical feminist. Who's main agenda is to spew out propaganda through educational institutions, TV/movie industry programming, commercials, and electronic mainstream media in order to indoctrinate young boys and "shame them" of their natural masculine traits & become effeminate_ more like girls, and tell young girls that their natural femininity has no value unless they become more masculine_ like boys to gain some notion of a perceived power which they must attain. Although, from their perspective, intentions are good. However, their noble efforts have become radicalized ideology which is ripping deeper & deeper at the bottom of the foundation of our Nation and society (the traditional family). It seems the radicalist structure, leftist politicians, and feminist won't be satisfied until we find ourselves living in a bizarro world with the sexes switched completely upside down. But once again they should never change the standard just so someone else can join. If you can’t make it you can’t make it. Now if there was female specific combat mos' or units (particularly SOF units) then I'm on board with that all day but to integrate females in SF, 75RR, SEAL, or Raiders regardless if they kept the standard just isn't a good freaking idea.

Hi, I’m a 21 year old woman and I’m training to become a US Navy SEAL. How should a woman prepare for BUD/S? How are women treated in BUD/S? Do you have any advice for preparation? I’m a civilian and I want to go enlisted. According to what some BUD/S dropouts told me, one female SEAL candidate broke her legs in Basic Orientation (BO) which is the first two weeks of BUD/S, another female SEAL candidate broke her legs in BUD/S Prep and a third female SEAL candidate got rolled back in BO for stress fractures. None of them made it. In November 2021, a woman made it to first phase of BUD/S for the first time in history but she quit on day one after the first hour.

The amount of disrespect in these comments is baffling.... When I was graduating highschool I had tested on the practice asvab completely unstudied for and got a 92. They told me I could be anything I wanted to be. My mother army, brother army , second brother Airforce and father navy I knew I didn’t want to be a pencil pusher. I worked my ass off in highschool to be physically fit, varsity wrestling, varsity water polo, varsity swim team , all-star cheerleading and highschool marching band drum line since 7th grade. I told them I wanted to be a sniper, I wanted to be a navy seal, delta force , combat medic and was told that I was a female and couldn’t. That fueled rage and hate for the military in my heart and I was against going in until the last few days. I as a civi right now have gotten fired more times than not for proven things that aren’t my fault. I prayed to my brother who passed and god if there was something that I was meant to do. I went on the USAF page and was scrolling through in demand positions and knew this was my time and calling. Regardless of what people say I will fight my way through to become a combat medic. This is what I want to do and by God I’ll move mountains to do it. I have reached out to a local PJ and hopefully will start training before I go to meps sometime this week. I have gone to school to become a EMT basic and it’s quite funny you mention but also sad that I have trained MMA the past 7 months and go up against males in my gym quite constantly because that’s the only way I will get better and push my self but you make it seem that someone of the same equipped skills bigger or not can’t be beat by woman. That you made the un logical statement of putting the idea that if you and your buddy were down and a female was on team that she would be kidnapped and terrible things could happen if the team didn’t help. That could be with anyone and any female enlisted that has to go over seas to battle grounds. My ex fiancé was EOD and they had two females in the shop he deployed with. So that’s just absolutely sickening that your saying in this certain position they are more at risk than they would be in any fighting position is un logical. I know very well that EOD suits can be almost 100 pounds, I also know that female firefighters don’t get less equipment because they are females and can still carry people out in full gear. I used to look up to guys like you growing up saying that’s what I want to be in life. I clicked on this video wanting insight before I left... and now all I’m getting is that women can’t keep up, save lives and protect in battle. If we all went to war right this moment is there going to be a hold on just females not going? Or is everyone going boots to the ground....

No one is saying you can’t do it. The main point of this video is showing that the standard that has been set is being changed to push women through the course. Specifically, one in particular. If you can meet the standards put out in the course, then every right to you to pass them and become a SF operator or whatever you want to be. But it is a disservice for the military to change the standards so that people who aren’t qualified can be. It’s that simple.

All of the rhetoric and controversy over this feminism issue is part of a much deeper problem. I think that only the delusional individual could believe that a world with a society like that would be healthy and thriving?

Probably the only liberal & transgender person that watched this, lmao. Anyway, at first I was put off and still am with shit ton of the things y'all said. However, looking past that, I do agree with a lot of your points. I think that if a woman can meet SF requirements and pass the courses, beautiful. Let 'em join. Though, granted, it is very unlikely for a female to meet the requirements as you described them fairly. Also, on the trans sports thing, I myself plan to get into combat sports. If I do, as a transwoman, I'd personally compete in the male leagues because I do have an unfair biological advantage. I'd suggest you guys check out Blaire White on KZbin. Maybe seeing somebody that has opinions more similar to yours may make you guys realize that being trans is a medical condition and not a political movement, judging by your disregard for trans pronouns.
