Remember this is based off of my experience dealing with tanks in this game. I covet scaling in this game more than anything. So tanks that scale off of gear and endgame stats. I go for those tanks above all else. But that is my opinion and you may feel differently that is fine. That is the fun of playing games like these bouncing different looks out there. Every solution is not for every player. Hopefully though this will help anyone who is getting stuck. Picking the proper tank sometimes nullifies how hard a fight is. And you can't use one tank for every solution but some come close.

Zangief, Bison, Hugo, and Beast Zangief are the best tanks. The Mad Ryu, Guy 1, Zangief 2, into Mad Ryu 3 combo is beastly. M. Bison will never die as long as he has teammates so I use Guy to kill them first. I cannot beat M. Bison with Fashion Sakura though is a problem.

​@@ComeOnBunnyBest (Def) tanks are legitimately Gouken, OG Zangief, E. Honda, and Abel. Makoto is great with the right team comp. Those 4 can mesh with any team comp. The best offensive tanks are, M. Bison, MH Ken, Evil Ryu, Virgil, F. Blanka, and Sagat. These guys really aren't tanks but they have extremely high sustain, damage, and utility. The best utility tanks are Nero, Makoto, B. Zangief, Blanka, and Mayor Cody. Utility meaning Silence, Interrupt, Stun, Shock, and Hinder. Speed buff, and debuff. The worse tanks are Hugo, DJ, Dudley, C. Dudley, and T. Hawk. These tanks I'd consider specialty tanks. Each of these last guys needs a rework, including Adon.

​@@ComeOnBunnyMy Makoto team, is OG Zangief, Makoto, M. Bison, and Elena. This team kills the opposing M. Bison. I use Akuma assist for Zangief, and Witch Juri assist for Makoto. This team punches several million above it's weight. I've killed a lot of M. Bison, B. Zangief, C. Viper, Elena teams as well as those who add Evil Ryu although Evil Ryu is a pain in the ass once he starts nuking your energy bar 😤 If you kill M. Bison early, it's a easy win.

Abel in my experience carries my team Even though he only Blocks 2 Hits its for All Characters and gives me time to build my next Combo. Awesome Unit.

In my time playing this game. The most valuable tank is OG Zangief as he's the only normal character that can kill M. Bison. I've run through teams with just M. Bison and Zangief 2 vs 4. I'm starting to use Makoto more. She needs to be leveled up a bit otherwise she's too squishy. Elena is very valuable to Makoto or any good healer.

Makoto was my 1st tank until 9-40. Abel has been holding the line for me since then.

New team. (No Bison) Super: Makoto (Rose assist) C1: Elena (Tag) C2: Zangief C3: Chun-Li (Juri assist) I wanted a team that doesn't rely on M. Bison. With this team, I've been able to kill M. Bison with regularity. You need Zangief 6x cars. It can be done with 3x cars but you'll lose Elena heal. Chun-Li C3 usually finishes off M. Bison after Zangief hits him with Banishing Flat. This team also causes stalemates. Even if you don't get first hit priority, once Chun-Li C3 (FS20+) goes off you'll out pace the enemy and Makoto builds stacks very fast. EX: Vigilante, Nature's Advent, Crazy Potato This team will counter the M. Bison, B. Zangief, C. Viper, Elena. Unless you come across MH Ken, or E. Ryu, this should be a win. My Chun-Li is maxed, with lvl. 84 soul power. No one else is FS30 or maxed. Juri and Rose are still SS. (Juri is FS30*). Shell Elena; SSS (FS10) Zangief; SSS+2 (FS25 Makoto; SSS+3 (FS21) Chun-Li; SSS+5 (FS30+SP84) Assist Rose; SS (FS20) Juri; SS (FS30)

I am using Beast Zangief as my main tank as he is the only one I have been able to get to S. I am thinking of using Able ahead of him now because of this breakdown.

i use both of them, abel and beast zang in the same team and mad ryu for damage. mad ryu --> abel --> beast zang --> mad ryu

Tanky units with stuns are crazy good. Use both and switch depending on stage but Beast Zangief on manual lets you beat a ton of stages by interrupting combos.

26:15 this x1000. I only have enough breakstones to promote 2 characters past the 120 cap. Now I’m stuck on 9-40 and challenge 140. I might just let this game idle for a couple days and see if it caps rewards

so far my go to tanks is matoko for super CC, and abel for shield. i also swap in beast zangief as second tank sometimes.

I am having problems getting passed the 9's.. my yeam all at 120.. blanka chung lee guile and cammy.. blankas the only s rank tho.. I remember u said at some point we will hit a wall if we dont have a tank and a healer.. am i at that point? Lol.. problem is that currency to awaken my fighters.. that purple ball thingy.. its really hard to get a lot of those... thats why i only have blanka as s rank.. Should i get a tank and a healer? Any suggestions?

Yea Elena or Rose if you can get her. And go for Abel Makoto or B Zan

if you dont have bison just use honda, he is amazing as a tank and can stun with combo 1

And then get Obliterated because he doesn't have anything protecting him. Beyond desperation once and if you get the shield up. He doesn't scale well so he won't be used endgame at all.

I'm on Level 140 Supreme Fist and 10-28. My team is from front to back is Makoto, M.Bison, Chun Li, and Ken. For the 2 support I can use it's typically Mad Ryu in front and Sakura 2nd, Sometimes I swap out Ken for Dee Jay. My guild is SeaWorld, for dolphins and Whales lmao. Come and join me I'm trying to build a powerhouse!

I SS my Abel beoz of dupes coming for him. He is a balance tank as you mentioned. However i like Makoto also but lacking dupes. I think as we go deeper into the chapters a solid tank, healer, dps and 1 Aoe sub dps and 1 single sub dps must important. Also faction will hurt as we progress deeper. Counter faction building team of each faction will require soon.

I kind of don't count him in any list because he can't die. And nukes when he dies just to come back. That isn't skill or even strat its plain cheap.

Hi Scion, I am playing as f2p, stuck hard atm, not luck with Makoto summons and spending all my gems, do you think I should start saving gems and just stay stuck or keep spending? I kinda want to save for banner/divination, but I think I would be stuck for a month or more before unlock divination hahahaha.

Well if you start saving it would need to be for after Ken. Because MH Ken won't change anyones account that much. You can use B Zangief if you have him? Or Abel can be use to carry as well. And lean on Mad Ryu spam.

You need to disrupted ryu from using his hadoken move there are lots of tutorials in YT.

Makoto , B Zan, and Bison all can. You just need to get to the back and stop them from spamming. If you time it you can completely stop them from ever doing anything.

I did for tank gear because starting at 9-40 every end of zone stage from there on out is a gear check.

Depends on your tanks gear the 40 stages are gear checks. If your tank can't last one combo cycle its too weak for the stage. And you gotta use gimmicks like knockdown or stun to win.

Slow down to 1x and practice your combos. Knowing who your first spot options are is really important because you want to avoid opening your combo with Makoto (for example) if she is your only character with a Combo 1 move.

@@janjares1689 Read back, he was not referring to her as her opener isnt good, but that if she is your only character with a Combo 1 move, opening with her means you cant access the rest of your team. For manual its key that you look at the characters you have and identify for each if they have Combo Building Blocks 1 + 2, 2 + 3, or the rarer 1 + 3. And make sure you always have at least 2 Combo 1 options (or keep that Single Combo 1 safe in tag)

Sure because I want certain things to happen as fast as possible. And only certain combos anyway. The PC will always do it faster than you in this game. I only change to manual when I need to wait in a fight for a counter or stun. Outside of that there is no reason for you not to let the AI combo as fast as possible. You can always change the special on the fly anyway.
